1979 RX7 CL Find...... look at the price...

http://seattle.craigslist.org/see/cto/2008519435.html

I'm selling a mint condition a bronze/light brown 1979 RX7 5-Speed with Hashino Racing 3 piece wheels for $15,000. It has been stored for 30 years in the garage. It's only has 17,000 miles. This may be one of the first RX7's ever to be sold in the U.S. (I say this because I bought this car through the 1st shipments that came into Seattle)

If you are interested please call me at (206) 805-9811. If I don't pick up please leave me a message. DO NOT email me. I will not reply to your emails. Phone calls only.

Ok i get it, 17K Orig Miles. And hes the original owner, but 15K!! Holy ****!

This is something mazda should by and out in there showroom somewhere!

Not sure its real. No pictures of the back bumber to verify 79 vs. 80. No MAZDA emblem on the front nose.

If its real, it could be worth maybe 10k but 15K is pushing it.

I'd like to see more pictures to prove its worth. Like of the pedals and the interior
overall to verify mileage.

meh - 6K mi minty (obv) silver GS just sold on ebay for $6400.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Mazda...#ht_500wt_1182

This guy is dreaming in this economy.
I have seen some 4 low mi (6-12K) SAs listed at these nose-bleed prices on ebay this past year, some of them _multiple_ times. Never sold. He's listed this about2 yrs too late to catch that kind of cash. maybe in another 5yrs?

Yeah I wondered about that as well but then it might not have had the retractable
option on it? I wasn't sure if the power antenna was an option or not. Might be
a GS only thing as well.

Manual power antenna was standard. That's why we all have the switch for it in the console. Can't tell from the pix if it has a sunroof or not, either.

SA front logo mounts via pins through the sheetmetal; no logo and no holes would almost certainly mean it's been repaired/repainted at some point.

Pretty car. No way to verify that "first cars in the US" claim without the VIN, though. And yeah, he's probably dreaming with that price.

the only way to properly scrutinize this car is to see it in person. its very difficult to tell how accurate his description is from the tiny pictures alone. it wouldn't be a bad idea to contact him and have him email higher res pics to you and post them here for everyone's viewing pleasure. also, the GS did have the power antenna and had the body side mouldings. it APPEARS to be a 79 because of the mono mirror..but we'd need the vin to verify more details regarding this car.

Also it's an early '79 if hood prop is on pass. side, nice car but I wouldn't pay more than 6k for it even if I had the money.

Emailed him, hopefully I get some pictures to post.

Can't really see it that well, but is that a euro mirror or have I been in an FB for too long..
