(ENGINE) Documented ECU Pinout/ cut list for 13b swap.
Here it is folks- the never before posted, long awaited, headache reducing ECU pinuout and cut and cap list for swapping a 13B 2nd gen motor into the 1st gen 12A cars. (this perticular pinout refers to the N/A motor)
1E- can be removed if you are not running A/C (
1F- Also relates to A/C
1G- Nuetral switch
1I-5th gear switch
1K- optional (shift light- marked yellow on pinout)
1L-clutch switch (tells when clutch is depressed
1O-Miliage switch (clicks over after 20k (useless)
1R- P/s (remove if you arent running p/S)
1W- heat hazard sensor (on passenger seat floor) not needed.
1A and 1B are your diagnosis checker wires as well as 1D you may want to build a code reader and install it in the glovebox for your own reference.
I believe these are the only ones you will want to remove if you are retaining the emmissions and all OEM functions. Let me know if there is something I should add or remove from this list. I also provided the FSM sheets to accompany this.
Green is the wires to keep
Red is to remove/cut
Yellow is optional
good luck guys...

Also this is for those of you who are running the 2nd gen FI system in a carb'ed body. If you go carb'ed on the 13b it is much easier! We decided the FI would help us being this is a track car.

Rrrt... I am going to actually remove the pins from teh harness connector that aren't needed to reduce the chances of future failure by grounding or vibration wear...

Demon,
If you go carb'd, you don't need a ECU.

Great work, but it needs a little more precise info about year/model applicability... doesn't look like it would work with an SA chassis, for example, unless you bring the tranny along as well as the engine. Which means modding interior to accomodate the shifter location change.
Still, very cool and useful info.

Just curious, but why did you cut out things like the neutral switch, heat sensor? Are they not part of the FB wiring or just out of convienence?
Also, though this is helpful on the ECU side, what about removing the rest of the wiring? Like, what other wires for the PS and AC need to be removed from the full harness?

Archived! This is awesome information. Even though it's for an S4 N/A engine, it's a great start for anyone doing S4 or S5 N/A or TII swaps into S3 FBs (which seem to be the most popular candidate for these swaps). I'm sure it'd give a good head start to the S2 and S1 guys as well, though undoubtedly there would be some change.
Thanks for the awesome post.
