I got a 1980 Rx-7 w/13B 4 port installed. Can't get my eng temp gauge to work. anyone have this setup.. Can you give me some advise? Below oil filter should be eng temp sensor right? Can i ground out harness wire and gauge will move to make sur ei got right wire??

What year engine do you have? I believe pre-1980's did not have a spot on the rear housing for temp or oil pressure.

 

it's a pre-80.. not sure exact year.. there is a sensor below filler neck.. just a blade type..

 

on a 12a and a rotary pickup 13b 4port i worked on last week theres a big brass electric sender with a fat round end that threads into the rear side housing. on the fat round end there is little round circle protusion. u slide the female connector (that looks like it's for a blade connector) right onto that little round circle protusion.

now on 12a water temp is on the same rear side housing and is a little spud that you pop a female roundy connector onto. don't remember about the 13b 4port but i'd bet its similar.
