hmm fellow kiwi......

Its a T3/T4 set up
exhuast housing is a 0.88a/r
turbine inducer is 64mm
turbine exducer is 53mm
compressor inducer is 44mm
compressor exducer is 63mm
6mm tip gap on the comp wheel
not sure on the A/R of the comp housing

compressor would flow approx 280HP on a piston engine.

 

.88a/r??? Are you sure?? I've heard 1.00 on both the s4 and s5 turbo.

 

1.0 wow that seems a little big. I have a spare 1.0 housing (Garett) and it's WAYYY bigger than the stock one. what i'm using now is a 1.15 and it dwarfs the stock one. .88 even seems a little too big for me.

 

i believe, but am not positive, that the 87-88 turbos were the .88 A/R and the 89-91 turbos were the 1.0 A/R. i could be wrong though, and probably are wrong

 

A/R is a ratio, .88A/R on a T3 hotside and .88A/R on a T4 hotside with completely different exhaust wheels, will yield completely different housings. I have always heard .88 for the S4 and .96 for the S5.

 

Its a .88, look how flat a series 4 turbine housing is compared to a series 5.

 

You can't compare A/R number from different models/sizes of turbos.

Yamaguchi book clearly states turbine A/R = 1.00.

Then when I buy a T04E with an A/R ratio of .96 what would be the point if and S5 has an A/R ratio of 1.00??

Because A/R is just a RATIO... for what it's worth I have a turbo that practically fits in the palm of your hand (might be good for one rotor of a 10A!) and it has a 1.0 a/r ratio.

 

A 1.0 a/r on an O trim is small.
A 1.0 a/r on a P trim is bigger.
A 1.0 a/r on a Q trim is bigger still.
...and so on. Find out what the equivalent trim would be for the stock turbos. (Don't know if there is an accurate comparison.)
a/r stands for area/radius of the housing. Obviously this would differ depending upon the size of the wheel.

If someone advertises a T-04E for sale and says it has an exhaust a/r of .96 that tells you NOTHING useful without knowing what trim the turbine is. You need more information.

If I were just to pose the question of "How much power does my 13B make?" no one could answer it until they had more details on it. Same thing with turbos.
