Too bad. I really liked the software and was looking forward to seeing it completed. Good work and thanks for your contribution FastHatch!

Hi. I'm actually a Subaru owner, but with the Power FC. My lack of hand commander has forced me to consider how on earth to do live monitoring and other configuration of my Power FC.
To this end, I'm resurrecting the intentions of producing a cheap, open source (including hardware) interface and software.

I'm an electronics engineer, and an embedded systems software engineer, and think I may be well placed to dig into this.

Project goals:
1. Build or source a working, reliable, safe, interface for under 30 UKP
2. Encode the already published command structure into a linux/ OS/X - based (its what I know) API for talking to the ECU
3. Perform basic live monitoring of ECU parameters
4. Perform high level configuration of ECU
5. Perform fuel map analysis
6. Produce a decent GUI.
(in that order)

If there are any mad coders out there, or anyone with the source code that can be adopted easily from previous projects (this is to be a GPL project), I'd love to hear from them.

Lets get this thing done!

Edwin

Look what I just found:

http://www.firmwarefactory.com/Docs/USB-I2C%20HW145.pdf

Available for a fiver (UK Pounds) from Farnell /DigiKey

Its a full I2C *slave* unit, with external analogue inputs.
its not open source firmware, but its a part that is easily available...

I'm obtaining one, and will be evaluating very shortly..

I've received and built the i2c slave unit, and have plugged in and verified that it connects over USB - the system sees it as a Firmware Factory HID device.

Next stage is to hook in the PFC and see any results....

The USB idea sounds great, it would avoid using a dongle with datalogit - Assuming it would all still work with datalogit?!

hello

i have two questions

1) how did you get the hand controller to boot without being plugged into an FC
I tried running 5v USB and the controller lights up, but doesnt actually boot

2) how did you make it blue, did you replace the surface leds? got a link to the actual LEDS you installed? are they 5v surface leds?

Sounds like a cool project. All I know is VBA.

Looks like a cheaper-priced Datalogit... still don't see any new software released
Looking forward to it if it happens though. Wish CoPilot was available for the FD

box is more important then software for now but we plan
to release software as well for free same as Co-Pilot
but different design.

if you want Co-Pilot working with RX7 its not a problem,
we cooperate with Kevin Beane designer of the Co-Pilot
and he said that for $100 he can add any new car model to
the list of supported cars in his next software release.
He tested the fc-hako box as well, more in:
http://www.mr2spyder.net/spyderweb/i...hako-it-works/
and in new FAQ of paulr33:
http://www.paulr33.com/powerfc-faq/powerfc-faq.htm

As far as I know there will not be any updates or continuation of the project in the near future. So simply saying the project is at the dead end unless someone else will take over.
