Old guys with 12As club meeting
You got me Tim, on reviewing the records I see that Holly's and Tommy's FE's were duly recorded.
I must confess, FE data occupies only very few of my brain cells, and usually only very temporarily.
No excuse, of course, which is why I fail to meet the basic competency criteria for OGTA Secretary or President.
Fortunately we have fine young citizens like Brett and Tommy to take up the slack.

That would be a wonderful car to have Brett, if it just wasn't so damn ugly.
What was Mazda thinking when they discontinued the elegant 1st gen in favor of that snub-nosed predecessor to a mini-van?
Dudes, look what I snagged on ebay last night!

All of that's all fine and dandy, if someone would just give me a hand swapping my 13b into this beautiful car.

That's a sweet looking GSL Johnny, hope to see it in person some day.
Sorry about the delayed response to your question, the OGTA's are getting old, most have died or retired, some left the country for nefarious reasons. The only OGTA's left that know about suspensions are Mike S., who upgraded everything in his 85 GSL, tokico shocks, ebach springs, lots of links with fancy names. But Mike hasn't been around lately, last I heard he moved to Arizona with a chick named Eva.
Another suspension dude is Robert, who knows everything you need to know about building a performance suspension. But Robert bought a vintage 79 SA a few weeks ago and we haven't heard much from him since. I suspect he's sequestered in his shop and garage, fixing it up.
So I'll submit my humble recommendation. That car looks like it's in great shape. If it has less than 150,000 miles on it, I'd recommend just leaving it stock. The original FB suspension is top notch, the car is light and it holds up remarkably well even in 30 year old cars.
After all, this is the car that, in the day, put Porches and Datsuns to shame.
If it ain't broke, don't fix it. Save money, time and frustration. Buy an RB exhaust system instead.

^ thxs.
It's got like 222k miles on the chassis but previous owner has rebuilt the engine. Heres an engine bay pic of it when i first got it. I've gotten rid of the wire loom and bee hive oil cooler and installed an oil cooler from a FC.
Pic of my car, buddies and father in laws.
the 2 tone one has respeed rack and handles awesome.
the wife's boosted SA

Wow.
You need to talk to Mike or Robert. Those units are out of my league.
Come on down for a meeting sometime, you're Older than you think.

Don't worry about that. The meets lately have been young guys with 13b's. I think it's been to cold for the old guys to get their blood flowing and I can't remember the last time I saw a 12a...
Waffles - hmmm good

Johnny, I've seen Mels car at DGRR, its real pretty and real fast. Her Dad does nice work too.
Ray you need to ride in Mels white SA, I bet it would blow your socks off!

I drove it off the rd and into a ditch first time drove it lolz.
thanks, just wished it handled a little better. We are currently working on a FB with a FC subframe and changing a few things around so hopefully it handles better.
When and where do you all meet? Do you hang out in a parking lot or do you get dinner or lunch?
Lots of rotors

Next meeting is Tuesday. February 3rd around 6:30 pm at the Tilted Kilt in Buford GA. We usually hang out in the parking lot and then go inside for dinner. Hope to see you out in one of those sweet first gens!

What a shame. In addition to the 0 12A powered cars and young folks, a few Mustang owners weaseled into the Jan meet... What is the club coming to?! :-)

You "young guys with 13b's" need to keep in mind that you aren't so young anymore.
Shoot, even Brett's got a 5 rotor. And the rest of you are pushing 30, if you're not there yet.
And y'all's memory must be fading pretty fast if you can't remember the last time you saw a 12A, it's only been a month or two.
We're just giving you 13B guys a little time to yourselves, a little break from the inferiority complex that comes with lots of 12A powered vehicles in the parking lot.

Lol, im feeling that already since im in late 40s. Once SOCAl temp is in the 60s, it is like brrrr...its too cold for me for me to work on cars. Below that, my cars and I will hibernate til summer time.
The weather in California is fine, the problem is the pollution.
Georgia is much more user friendly for rotaries.
Speaking of which, did you guys see this twin engine wankel?

Welcome to OGTA Johnny. There is a wealth of knowledge in this group and Ray is biased toward the SA & FBs. He's not to keen on the FCs, although I think some of us are wearing him down. I'm sure you know the Robert that Ray was referring to in his posts, Robert won 1st place 1st gen a couple of years in a row at DGRR with his white SA. Keep reading here and I know you have great support with the TN group and your new family. Hope to see your 1st gen at DGRR this year.

Johnny branching out in the community.
I guess Charles and I are Old guys with 13B's in old Mazda's. I realllly need to the weather to get better so I can finish one of the POS's. Would be nice to put some miles on the car before a DGRR flog fest.

I hear Mike S. and a bunch of other Old Guys are having a party up on the hill at DGRR this year.
You guys want to crash it some evening? If so, send me a pm.

Did you guys hear that Sarah Palin is planning to attend the February OCTA meeting next Tuesday evening?
No kidding, it turns out she's a big RX-7 fan and will be in Atlanta for a conference next week.
She says she's always wanted to meet some OGTA folks if she got a chance and the stars aligned.
Might even be a TV crew.
