Zoom-Fest 2010 Registration is now open.

After considering all the possibilities and potential growth of Zoom-Fest in the future we have decided for 2010 to change things up a bit.

This is to announce Zoom-Fest 2010 will now be a full track day with "Time Attack" event!

The Zoom-Fest Time Attack will be held July 17th-18th 2010, at Talladega Grand Prix in Talladega, Alabama. Talladega Gran Prix Raceway is a 1.4 mile road course with ample room to continue the Zoom-Fest car show, swap meet, awards and outdoor movie tradition with the addition of a open track day and Time Attack attraction. We, as a group, will take over the entire facility from 7AM Sat morning till 10AM Sunday morning. Anyone with any level of driving experience is welcomed. Everyone will be fully covered by full motorsports insurance for the entire visit.

Zoom-Fest Time Attack is open to all Mazda or Mazda powered vehicles. There will concession open on the grounds, professional run course and corner workers, ambulance on duty as well as free camping.

The Time Attack will be open to the first 40 cars on a first come first served basis. The Zoom-Fest event is open to any number of participants.

I might be able to make it if I fly in but i doubt that I will be able to do much otherwise.... are you camping there overnight?

 

You could always fly into Atlanta, we can pick you up from the airport and drop ya back off on the way home.

Most will be camping there overnight.

Yes, there is plenty of room for tents as well as camper trailers.

 

I'm in for the trackday. Woot!

Now I just have to get me a helmet.

 

I plan on bringing both cars down.

Not sure if im doing the Time Attack yet, we will see.

 

Will you be able to drive on the track even if you're not doing the time attack?

 

There will be parade laps during lunch for all festival participants.

What is the requirement for joining in with the drive around the race track?
I will register and hoping to drive my FC on the track.

This means the only requirments are that you self-tech your car.And be honest here. You may be on the track with ME Get the required SA95 or newer helmet and pay the 150.00 for the timeattack registration and you are in there. It is a blast!

The only requirement for the parade laps are that you have paid for the standard $25 ticket. These laps will be during lunch time. You will follow a pace car and generally only go a speed of around 50 mph.

 

So how many folks are signed up for ZoomFest?

Its in 2 months and I only see about 9 folks on the mazdameets site
signup/payed thread. Maybe that threads not up to date? I hope. I want
to see folks come out to this.

Plan to attend witih my girlfriend. I was planning to run the time attack but I don't know if I can swing the cost of a 4 point bar by the event date (I'll be in the vert). Damnit. :-(

Depending on how many people I can drag with me, I plan to leave Columbia Friday night and possibly stay in
Atlanta and then drive down Saturday. Any volunteers with floor space? :-)

 

You could always stay at Motel 7 (Holly's house). However, She will be at Motel 6 in AL with me. We are heading over Friday evening. If you are dragging a bunch of people the cost to split a room would be cheap.
