Wolf3D ver4 compatible with microtech X4 igniters

Hi guys
have searched allready, infact I cant seem to find any threds that make any reference to the X4 igniter pack that microtech sells. Probly quite new. I had a dealer tell me that it will work fine so long as the ecu is able to control dwel. dont want to end up desapointed later on , so I thought i'd ask the pro's

was thinking of going with a Huco equivilant of the 4 channel igniter found on the 98 audi turbo's (Bosch 0 227 100 211) but it could be a hassel getting the correct plugs for it.

So....

would one of the X4's work http://www.microtechefi.com/html/LT.htm#4

Will be using 4 trailing S5 coild to keep things nice and tidy. The X4 will definitly run them, but will the wolf run the x4?

Have you got a data sheet for the X4 ignitor?? I will be able to answer your question if I you have a good datasheet or good paperwork with the ignition box. I would guess that you would actually need a X6 for a 20B, and Wolf V4 plus.

No probs guys

The X4 works well, and havn't had any probs since I installed it. One of our local perf. shops had them cheap for $US80.00 including wire in plugs.

So it works!

Just one thing I found a bit funny. From the pic on the microtech website you can see the nice extruded alloy body! PURDDDY! and one would think this would provide plenty of cooling, whihc it probably would. However, Had a little peak inside after having it up and running, and the transistors do NOT actually touch the inside of the extruded alloy casing in any way. There is a small alloy plate about 1.5"x1.5" that covers all of the 4 main power transistors (4 chnl igniter), I guess this is meant to be the heatsink. However there is a small gap (about 4mm) between this 'alloy plate' and the inside of the extruded case.

sound strange?

Would of posted pics if my digi didn't crap out on me.

Talking

Question are they bosch ignitors( BIM 024) or are they transistor/mosfets (flat 3 leg device) My guess would be Mosfets.

Does this mean they connot run full sequential and fire the leading as a waste spark. Apparently there is a setting in the LT10S that allows you to switch it to ignition booster mode...not sure what this does, maybe allows a heap more cuurent to the coil. If this is the case,it couldnt be doing the coil any good...
