Wolf V500 Upgrade???

What’s the deal with the Wolf V500 upgrade ? Has anyone contacted Wolf about their offer and heard what they wanted to "Trade in your V4 or V400 unit for a V500"? I did send Wolf an email but I want some honest opinions. I am kicking around the upgrade idea, but I am not sure if I have all the (UNBIASED) facts:

i.e.
memory cartridge (do they still have this feature)
hand held controller (do I need my laptop ALL THE TIME)
true wideband feature (can the Wolf ACCURATLY control the lsu4)
Data Logging (does it work this time)

Please post any facts you may have

the only fact I know is that it can store a 2nd map, requires a switch. You use the switch to go from map to map, so I dont know if it really accepts the memory cartridge or not- but you would not need it.

(Thanks for the info Rob XX7)

So Wolf responded to my initial email, sew below:

This trade up deal allows you to trade up to the V500.

The V500 having so much more in the way of auxiliary's and drivers the benefits are endless.

The deal works like this, if you wish to continue with the deal you forward your unit to us and we will check it over.

Then for the cost of $1395.00 AUD plus freight, this will get you a V500 wire in kit, if a plug-in kit is available and required there may be added cost.

Regards,

Robbie McQueen

I got super lucky and found a member selling the v500 cheap so I bought it.
Now I have to get the plug in adaptor so I dont have to rewire my car.

Do you tune the car yourself? Maybe get a copy of the v500 software and see how much it would benefit you over your current set up.

I am not a tuner but I do plan on doing the fine tuning.

I think 1400 + my unit is very HIGH. I never got a response for if it was just the unit or hand control and cartridges in that “core rebate” price. When I 1st inquired and it seemed like “new money” WOLF responded lightning fast (>12hrs). But now (2nd inquiry) that I asked Robbie a few questions about the unit i.e. wideband, how well new features work… I am still waiting for a response

Not to mention the base maps from 8 months ago that I am holding my breath on.

I have a Wolf I think they are the best in the price range but Im not feeling the customer service .

you should go through a local rep, Waynespeed always answers my questions right away, if it was not for his excellent service and tuning I would not have stuck with the wolf. ANY computer I was thinking of running would rely on my local service and tuner, no sense having something you cant get help with.

RotorMotor2 too..

Wolf customer service is a joke - they shovel their b/s out the door and let us test it (provide the feedback, etc).. Michael & NYTT are the best online bets in this section anyhow.
