Using the wolf's closed loop to save $$
Well I figure once I get the car tuned just where I like it, I'm going to pull the wideband out and throw a bosch stock replacement 1 wire o2 in there, then see if I can't tweak the settings to where I can get it to lean the fuel out where I can, in an attempt to lower my cars dependancy on $3.20 a gallon fuel.
Obviously I know 3 wire is better, but is also more expensive and complex, and I don't think the 2 minutes that it saves me before the o2 is up to temperature is going to save me that many gallons a tank.
So anyone who has tinkered with using closed loop on the 4.0 please throw me some ideas or possibly maps that have worked well with a 1 volt o2.
I already know the parameters that I'm going to be using it, (ie. rpm, load, engine temp, ect) but I'm not that familiar with the stoich voltage of the 1 volt, (i believe it's around .4V) and the wolfs user manual only tells you enough to know how to change certain settings, but it doesn't tell you exactley what your changing. Like in with the maximum and minimum stoich settings, and the track rate and jump rate.
Any input is appreciated.

ya, i put my wideband in a buddy of mine's ls1 camaro so we could tweak his car and those motors pretty much set at 16:1 if not leaner. Even under full throttle it never even saw a 12.?:1. While i know the motors are worlds apart, i feel a little more comfortable to tune 15~16:1 while cruising.
I'm not quite ready to give up on the o2 idea just yet, maybe only give it a couple percent to work with. If for nothing more thanto make me feel better.

I've just had mine on a dyno to get the low end a bit more fuel efficient. Can't give you any figures at the moment (only done on Tuesday), but the closed loop is definately working more often now. I'm only running a Narrow band single wire O2 sensor.

I just trimmed my primaries by 5% and just take it easy, no WOT to redline or High Boost if i can help it.
I get it around 15.0 any higher and I start hearing alot of popping in the exhaust. It was so obvious a CHP going by gave me a look on the freeway.
I was able to squeeze 275 miles a full tank on 50/50 driving (street/highway)
Oh I run 720/1000s set up.

275mile=442kms, not bad for 50/50. In theory I do 50/50 highway/street, but my highway run includes a rise from sea level of about 700m - getting about 360kms for 52 litres (better than 240 after the intial wolf installation). I'm getting 450km min on all highway runs before my tune, i'm still waiting for the next oppourtunity to do a long run - I want 500kms All stock S4TII except for no cat (well the box is in there but there's nothing in it).
Getting good MPG in these cars would be easy, if they wern't so much fun

I do a 405km run each way about once every 3 months to my other half parents place. It's mostly flat, the best i've got prior to the tune was 42 litres to 405kms, that's sitting on about 120kph for most of it, so i guess i'm around 10L/100kms?
