I used one of nyt's maps to get it started. It started easily after I lowered my insane fuel pressure. Make sure you have the correct offset for it to work correctly.

Right now I'm editing my map slowly with my wideband and fixing the timing a little. NYT runs crazy timing at idel

I would make all the timing around idle 0 so you can zero it out.

thanks

thanks for looking guys , we ran into a problem with the 150.00 ignightor " we fried the damn thing " I'll be buying a Fd untit this week , not sure how we did it but we did . We got the car running before it blew , and it ran for over 10 min , as we adjusted the fuel curve . I honestly believe that the battery charger that was hooked up mightr have had something to do with it . Please feel free to send any maps you might think might help

Thanks in advance

no it's just the generic version of the bosch part, i did the same thing. The generic fried after about 10-15 minutes of running, bought the actual bosch part (it says bosch right on top of the ignitor) and it's lasted a year and a half under abusive conditions.

heat sink

Im assuming you mean where was it atached to the car ?? I screwed it to the firewall so it would take any heat . I think this is what you are asking about

hmm, i have a monster heat sink made for mine, out of a 4" x 4" x 1" piece of aluminum with a lot of slots drilled in it and it seems to keep it cool. I doubt the ignitor was able to transfer enough heat into the firewall to keep from burning up.

if you look at the fd ignitor it has it's own smaller heat sink, then it's mounted to bracket, then firewall to help disburse heat.

when i had the bosch on a smaller heat sink, 3" x 2" x 1/2" it got so hot you could cook something on it.

Help again

Coils seem to be fine once we got them all wired up with a heat sink , But we cant seem to get it to idle . seams like starter fluid will keep it running , but the gas mixture is really lean or to rich and I cant tell untill Iget the car to idle . I have asked this several times . I was hoping that NYT would send me a starter map ??? but he has not replied to any request . Here is what I have in my car so far , just incase someone has a map to send me . I have a 87 T II with a 91 S-5 motor in it . I have the racing beat exaust / stock injectors with stock turbo . I had this car running 13 .5 last year with a broken diff mount , but somehow lost the map over the winter , and the lap top we were using to program the car was stolen this year . Can someone please send me a map , hopefully some where close to Virginia .

Thanks in advance

i replied to your pm. the last map i posted http://countercultured.net/maps/r06-06-05.wmf should start your car if you are using a modified CAS.

if not my car likes to idle around 2.6-3 ms (depending on motor) on the 550 primaries with stock fuel pressure.

6-8ms start pulse, with 6-8ms addon seems to do the trick with the temp correction maps that are in my map.

if you need any other help let me know
