Yeah as long as you don't really need the cops life is good. My sport had rb headers/silencer to a shitty straight through 2.5 muffler.....flames over 5k everytime! I ran it for 3+ years without a ticket.

BUT I wouldn't dare drive to the beach it in if I didn't have to.

your GTU-s was ******* loud when you left that meet at the crossroads last year in Jan. I guess that was as close to the beach as you got huh?

Wow makes me glad we don't have nearly as many restrictions as California does. The added bonus of having a "classic car" license plate is that the local PD usually won't harass you about a loud or modified exhaust and other "pefermance modifications".

I don't know what parts of Irvine and other "rich" areas you and 13B1 are around in. I owned an NA FC with a straight through exhaust for 1 year (before i sold it for life's circumstances), and i drive my GT-R everyday with no cats. However, i never did let my cars look like *** as initial impressions do make a difference. I love having cars and coffee about 5 minutes drive away. I love having sevenstock 5 minutes drive away.I drive my GT-R pretty much any chance i get (pretty much daily), and i love cruising all the beach cities around here on the weekends too.

I never have been pulled over ONCE for driving a modified car in irvine, NB, in the 9 years i have lived here (for the most part). However, all my friends in LA get harassed for modified cars. I have no desire to move to LA.

If anything i had IPD compliment me on my Skyline GT-R. They loved to pick on my FC (too many parking tickets for parking on the street for months when it was a non-op ). That's about it.

Maybe if you have a rustbucket car that looks like it's got trouble written on it and you drive around like a dumbass you might get pulled over.

I have to agree with Miata_mx5. If the car has good paint, clean, and you aren't driving like a maniac then usually you get by with just a stern look. I live by Marina Del Rey and half the time the cops think I have a modified 944 porsche...

I've also heard that beach cities suckkkkkk. They're cracking down on loud exhausts.

What year RX-7 do you have that gets a classic car plate? What are the rules in Idaho for that?

I live in Riverside so thats a plus as far as "cops have better things to do."
Keep the car clean like everyone else said.

I was once pulled over in my turbo Integra when I had it back in '04. The cop caught me "hot roddin" and asked me if I knew the speed limit. I was nice, told him he caught me and I'm not here to bullshit. I only got a warning. It is really sad, but I believe being white in Riverside was a helpful factor there.
This was back in the days before they had picture books on Honda engine bays.

I would LOVE to see these picture books. Have any been posted online yet?

I got pulled over once in my TII, as I was exiting Buttonwillow Raceway after Mazfest.
