The car is not that bad as has already been established in the thread but seriously I know of one person who is not a total tool that drives one (my room mate).

My first run in with a douche in a G35 was in San Francisco heading into Chinatown, I was in the FD and some dick bag cut me off for no good reason (both lanes were open) and hammered it up the hill. Only to use full ABS to come to a stop at the top of the hill. This was your typical black G35 coupe, lowered, tint, Skyline badge etc.

Another time there was a G35X sedan that pulled up next to me at a stop light. Light goes green and he seriously just dumps it and launches hard, for that car. I don't remember why but I wasn't in the mood for **** like that so I eased into it in first, short shifted to second and got on it. Needless to say he was staring at my tail lights as the lanes merged and then we got onto 101.

General failure...

 

Why all the hate for the G's? Aren't we all enthusiast? Its not the cars, its the owners. Nothing wrong with running some 350gt badges. Its like running JDM pieces uhh... jdm FTP's?

I know a few g35 owners, so to put all of them down is just typical. Think about how many ricer rx7's we see.. there are a few. When you start hating on other enthusiast it makes you no better.

Why do they suck so much though? I mean, there are plenty of people who suck who drive them, but there a plenty of S2K, RX-, Audi, Scooby et al drivers that suck. That doesn't mean they all suck.

You'll notice a blind 'hatred' from a lot of people who don't understand anything about other cars. People who blindly hate V8 swaps or B16 swaps or whatever are ignorant. Anything can be made to be fast or perform. People who conduct themselves in a manner that brings discredit upon their car community are the real issue.

glad to see that i'm not alone in this one. In fact, it happened again when I went to pick up my new UIM from UPS. The guy at the counter was riding my *** about my car being "loud". (which it is NOT). when I asked him what kinda of car he drives ......... G35. WTH!

The thing i hate is when the "opposing" driver, doesn't even bother to show their face. They just race off with their riced-out mommy/dadddy-paid car and black tinted windows, before you can even talk to the person. It could be a G35, 350Z, Rx-7, Ferrari, Neon, whatever. It's more about the driver than the car to me, a matter of respect and understanding. For some reason all the spoiled brats seem to be picking up the G35s instead of BMWs or Mercs. Maybe it's because their parents are cheap YOu have to admit a very large percentage of these douchebags are driving around on mommy/daddy's money.

All BS and shittalking aside, I can appreciate the car, but not necissarily the driver. A lot of these phaggots don't know anything about the car other than its ratings in the magazines. They don't know how much it weighs, how much power it makes (let alone to the wheels), or even how much it really costs... SINCE THEY DIDN'T PAY FOR IT!!!!!

Excuse the hate, but ungrateful kids need to recognize that they are on the bottom of the food chain, especially when they go looking for a job... other than banking on mom and dad! Sure you can say I'm generalizing, but this is my observation over 10+ years. It doesn't seem to be getting any better as time goes on, unfortunately.

 

ok so here is the problem with nissan as of late.....people jumped ship from honda and acura and moved over to nissan which means you end up with all the honda douchebags now sporting a different emblem but still have the same shitty attitude about cars.

the whole i have the coolest car ever thing and the i can buy everything for 20$ mentality. they really all just need to go back to their shitty hondas and keep my nissans clean

the g35 is a nice car. there is no doubt about it. would i personally pay that money for one...hell no but point remains its a nice car.

Used G35's are coming down in price, just like the FD's did... a couple of years ago, when I finally was 25+ and was able to afford one... and since NSX's(Honnda/Accura) aren't coming down into the sub $30k range anytime soon, as well as not being that many of them... It's tough for someone to find a nice "Sports Car" (RWD) with performance and handling with todays budgetary constraints. That being said there's no reason to jump on the gas at every light just to prove that you made a (in your mind) superior choice.

With this in mind it's foolish to generalize just about anything. For every rule there seems to be an exception.

I have a G35 coupe. Its a black on black 6speed with aero and brembos. Its got tint, a drop, and 20's. No other mods and I think its a perfect daily driver. I dont wear nice clothes or work in an office, and I have never raced anyone in my G. The car really isnt anything special, I love my single turbo FD 100x more than the G but you guys want to know the sad part? That stupid G35 gets way more attention than my FD, people love it and I always get complimented on it when i dont even really give a crap about the car. So for all you guys that are angry about G's its only going to get worse, no one likes 7's, especially 1st and 2nd gens and as the G35's become more affordable there are going to be more and more young drivers getting them with very poor taste

 

I had a choice between buying a new G37 or the new Rx-8 R3... I chose the Rx-8 R3

Maybe it's my area....I see way more retarded EVO's than G35's.
I personally like the G35 a lot, if I had to get a DD then I think it'd be the perfect choice.
I know a couple of cool G35 owners, one of them has a twin turbo kit built to about 500whp, and others just drive it like they drive any car, no racing no bragging whatsoever. Maybe it's because I know them so I know the better side of them...I wouldn't know how they are if they randomly see other RX-7 owners on the road though.

The FD probably gets less attention because you don't drive it as often? Just a guess, but for the ppl who know about cars, they'd be drooling all over your FD than the G35.

 

theres an older dude maybe in his mid 40's that lives down the street from me. he looks and acts like a complete tool. he usually sees me driving either of my 2 beaters, a 91 honda civic si or my 86 bmw 325 so when he finally saw me washing my FD he slowed down as he passed and rolled down the window and kinda just stared for a bit before finally saying: "so whats wrong man? how come i never see u driving that old crappy mazda? couldnt afford a corvette huh?" then he starts laughing to himself and gives me a rev and takes off in a hurry........total *** haha but whatever i love my FD. dudes like that just give g35 owners a bad name
