Why do so many cars in Cali have salvage titles?

the only real bad thing about salvaged title is... you get no money from insurance if anything were to happen

i once had a 91 t2.... that thing had a bent frame on the front and back and a clean title. whole frontclip have been replaced, with quarter panels chopped and new piece welded..... 3 major accidents....

Well I understand about how insurance won't pay above a certain amount for a car to get fixed seeing I was in an accident with my FD about a month before I moved out here. The thing is even though I was in it, I had the car totally repaired and it's not a salvage title, since it had no permanent damage. I don't understand why a car since it's been repaired here still has to have a salvage title?

labro rates are alot higher here too so a quote is most likely higher here
