because you weren't paying attention when i said it's the runners that are big.

behold, cosmo vs. fd stock primaries.

the center iron casting is almost identical externally. since they're interchangeable, it's not any wider than an fc or fd intermediate.

this is my word; and as such, is beyond contestation

^ cosmo:

longer runners
bigger plenum
huge runners that taper down so the port oriface is the smallest part (speeds incoming air and promotes atomisation)
primaries open later for a cleaner charge (less overlap), leaner idle, and more low end power.

Ahh....I seee said the blind driver.....
So the design of this engine, the tapering of the runners and position of the primaries, that would be design to make it more efficient since it was intented for an auto tranny car...Correct??
That makes sense that it would run leaner at idle for quick initial throttle response maybe.
Adn the tapered runners to speed air for lower RPM power.
Hmm.
I see.

What about the outer plates?? The Secondaries.
Those are noticeably larger on the outside of the plate. Are those large on the interior also or are they tapered down also???

identical ports to the fd's...just the larger runners.

think about it. the cosmo is more or less a japanese cadillac. it's big. it's heavy. it's driven by old farts. old farts don't care how much power a car has at 7 or 8k rpm. people in general don't like to wait for power (why do you think the v8 got invented?) how much power does the car have in that instant you step on the gas? that's what the cosmo is all about.

so everyone that says they want a cosmo because it has "better low end" usually negates the cosmo benefits by porting the hell out of it and slapping on a big single turbo. if you're going cosmo, i say milk the low end with some bnr's and high compression rotors. otherwise, what's the use? the manifold looks cool or something?

No it was $250 for the complete rear end actually.
The rear end was rebuilt about 20k miles ago.
Gimme like $145 for the tranny. It's in good shape, no grinds. High miles though. It's got about 160k on it.
If you're really interested just PM me.
What city are you in???
