In the beginning .... the Vegas 8's started this a couple years back, this year they are joining forces with SinCityRotary a sizebale group of rotary owners and enthusiasts, we proudly refer to ourselves as "more then a car club" as a very supportive family like group. This event has grown and continues to do so. It's going to be a fun battle of how many 8's or how many 7's or can the home team in Las Vegas represent the largest number of attendess.

Right now the 8 guys are claiming they will be the largest group and so far the Locals are holding the number for attendees. But there are people committing from all over the region. So if you plan on being in town that weekend and may like to attend let me know and I'll add your name to the list. This i sure to turn out to be a blast of a weekend. And when ya not chatting with fellow rotary people you can hit the casinos!

Now come on who doesn't want to go to Vegas for a weekend and show off their Rotary? or atleast check some out

Announcement of the third annual Las Vegas "What Happens In Las Vegas" Meet. This event is open to all rotary vehicles

Date of the meet: June 18th and 19th, 2010

Friday evening gathering: In & Out Burgers on West Sahara

Friday evening party: Presently looking for the least expensive kart track that has food. Will announce final location when I have a deal after which a close place for drinks will be in order.

Saturday drive meet point: In & Out Burgers on West Sahara 10am

Saturday evening party: Hoffbrahause , Las Vegas, 7pm

For the ones that want to stay off the strip: I just confirmed I can do coned off parking!
You will not lose your spot unless another 8 takes the spot lol
How it works: Cone in spot. Remove cone and park. Place cone behind car. When you leave the spot place a cone there so no one piston takes your spot.
Our back lot is now walled in by a 10' brick wall with tons of light and the security guard is a ex RX-8 owner. PM me for room info

We are posting early so that you can set this time aside. If you know your coming, let us know so we can plan.

To those of you that have not attended a Las Vegas meet, The over view will be:

Friday June 18th, 6pm - 8pm a general meet at the In & Out burger parking lot that will move to a place of libation and food at around 9am thru ?.

Saturday June 19th at 10am we will meet in a place yet to be announced for a drive in the Las Vegas area. The drive is usually about two hours in length and will end at a local Hotel for lunch. There will be a several hour break for rest, recreation and sight seeing. The party group (all that wish to attend) will meet at the Hoffbrahause for beer, food and friendship from 7pm until ?

This years drive will be close in to Las Vegas and will be on all paved roads (unless the state or county do their thing again this year), some narrow roads and some twisty roads and some freeway. There will be one spot (again this year) that will require a $5 entry fee (nothing is free anymore).

The weather will again this year be very warm but not blazing hot (yet). Be sure you carry drinking water, a hat, vehicle water and oil.

I think it has to do with driving 6 hours to Vegas during hot as ***** JUNE. lol

 

I can appreciate that but heck I also remember baking last year in Irvine swore was hotter there then back in Vegas ... maybe doesn't help there are guys that don't know eashother to caravan. I mean our club intends to caravan to SS13 and any others we may hook up with

me personnally I would be traveling in the cover of darkness as well lol

 

To be fair it would be going from 110 to like 100, and maybe they'll finish that damn dam bypass by then. Some local guys here are talking about it. Assuming my engine is done/running/tuned I will likely try to swing out there.

 

vegas in june = too hot for me. specially driving without a/c ? even with a/c will not be able to keep you cool down. To me at least.

Hey the more ppl the better this should kick ****, unofficially how many ppl talking about possiably making it? The reason I ask is at the rate this is building we may have to modify things a little such as the first meet location as parking would normally be enough it maynot for this event

 

I don't see how this could ever happen. I see 2-3 RX8s on my 4 mile drive to work everyday. lol
You should just feel like the majestic relic.

Is your drag day and test and tune evening that Friday? That might be something worth mentioning if it is. I've thought a couple times about coming out to that. Its a long drive but the time between runs can't be like it is here in LA.

Sorry no drag this year depending on turnout this year we will be looking into the dragstrip, the roadcourse and possiably callaborating with the SCCA as well as some other ideas we have cooking for next year.

I know it'll be quite hot but the weather in June isn't THAT bad. Could be worse like the 1st year we did this when we decided to go in AUGUST. :Eyecrazy:

Yea Ill be rolling out to the meet and im trying to bring a group of 4 or 5 Rx7's and will meet up with some local Rx8 for the cruise out to Vegas from SoCal

 

No way. There's 9 others on the list, and I'm tentatively planning on going. It all depends on my car being finished.
