If he's that determined to come to Vegas, I'd say he should be able to score some tickets, maybe from a Performance Shop in his area, that has a couple extra, or is not going to be able to attend ? Even if they're not going they usually know a vendor that can hook them / you up... if there's a will there's a way... And if he has had a Rotary Powered vehicle for any period of time, he's done more than enough business to be on a first name basis with more than one business

Don't want to sound like an elitist but this is exactly why I'm not so stoked about SEMA anymore. It's starting to become too easy for any "outsider" (i.e. non-industry related people) to gain access to the show. In recent years SEMA totally relaxed the rules esp. on the last 2 days so every dude who works at a shop (NO, just because you're on a "team" or have a retail shop it doesn't qualify you as an industry person), his girlfriend, his homies and his entire family roll into LVCC looking for a deal or "the hookup". I get bombarded with trifling questions and requests and get slowed down when I could've spent my time to conduct some actual business.

At least you get to walk around since I take it you're an invited guest and aren't required to work at the booth the whole time.
I always try to make it a point to take a full lunch break but last year was just too busy! And yeah usually on Friday everyone either shows up waaay hungover, shows up late, or just doesn't having much motivation to do much anymore lol

Oh you're telling me! I used to have to track down the drivers and grease him with a Jackson, sometimes more just to get our crates. But I've gotten smart. Nowadays the first thing I do when I arrive for set up is to find out who's the go-to guy in the yard and get buddy-buddy w/ him...it totally paid off off!

and yeah im an invited guest. i go to the show walk around say all my hellos to who i need to. then i relax and look at w.e i want.
i completely understand the point of the show. i dont bother anyone i dont know and if im in a booth and someone else has a question or is doing business i get out of the way. i know how frustrating it is to waste your time with people when you could be doing real business.
what booth are you in?
and as for the last couple days yeah.....uh u remember one of the first shows i went to there were people sleeping under tables and so on. i totally understand why one of my friends says he doesnt want to go out when he is there. he doesnt want to work all day feeling like ****.

If you guys want to go to SEMA let me know.
i can make it happen. You'll just be responsible to make yourself a lame *** Business card and you'll be good to go.
I can register you as a sales rep for our company. Just fly in and will call your tickets. I'll have to take payments via paypal in advance.
I know it's really cheap if we pre-reg. Probably $15 to $20 per person and you can go all 3-4 days.

Haha I don't know why but I got on the good side of the foreman at LVCC the last couple years so I got speedy response when I needed it and he didn't even accept my tip! I guess I got lucky.
You forgot to mention it also sucks ***** when your crate doesn't show up til mid afternoon on the last day for set-up!
It must be nice to be able to take a whole week off just for SEMA...got an opening at your office?

I just read this whole thread and love how not one person that actually lives here has an opinion.....
Don't waste your vacation just for SEMA, it gets over run here with TOOLS and wannabes. Vegas has LOTS to do besides gamble/hookers/strippers just like any other city but the car scene is weak!! Lived here my whole life, been in the rotary and car club scene for 12+ years. Just get some ideas of what you want to do and plan your vacation accordingly.....
I'm with CanyonRunner on the whole they let any Idgit with a tint and wheel shop into SEMA and it's gotten away from it's original purpose!
However, 2cute has the right idea in that if you like to party there's plenty of them going on for all types of people!!

...BUMP to 'dat...
I've been here in VEGAS for a year and a half...and
YES...there's a lot of wannabee's & SHADY-*** people here.
It's RARE to run into a TRUE-ROTARY Enthusiast here in VEGAS.
Don't get me wrong though...
There are some cool cowboys out here with some ROTARYheart.
Other than that...
Just SEE THE SHOWS...CLUBS...& GIRLS!!!
Good luck on your trip.
PEACE.
