There used to be an event like this at MR Laguna Seca called the Wankel Winter Wonderland (WWW) it was first put together with Shiv Patek and then I took over for a few years... and interest waned, so I turned into an ALL MAZDA TRACK DAY event for two years... and then things got expensive and less and less peeps came out, so we started MazFest.

Good luck to whoever puts the next one together. It was always fun!

I want to do Laguna Seca damn it! But it is freaking expensive and far it would be an entire weekend thing for me. And yes I really hope I could get enough support or interest to get something started down here

^^ Being that your affiliated with speed ventures, what type of perks does that include? Im just curious.

Secondly, what tracks do we have so far as prospects? Streets of willow seems cool at this point....especially with summer dying down a lil, cooler weather would be dope for running the rotary.

I am not affiliated with speed ventures. I just attend their events and that is pretty much it. I only contacted him and Aaron to see if they would interested in doing a Wankel Challenge for us. They said they are interested. They want to see if we are ready for one though if there will be people showing up and stuff so that is why I came and made this thread. So I might become affiliated with them but I am just a regular customer to them at the moment.

Tracks I think we should start with are Big Willow, Streets of Willow, Button Willow and maybe AutoClub Speedway?
4 Events through out the year to see if we could expand to more or something I think would be a good start.

I wouldn't do Big Willow without a cage. But the other three tracks are good venues.

Funny that you say that cause I was thinking of the evo that rolled at big willow. I would have a cage by then so I would be ok with it but I don't blame you guys if you are not down for big willow. It is a really high speed track not a very cool place for mistakes I personally have not driven the track yet but I have been a passenger on the track.

I'll be interested in this, even more so if it was wheel to wheel. Either way, we need more RX-7s out on the road course

I would not be down for wheel to wheel sorry. If that is what you want just do SCCA Time Attack format is a lot easier
