Scott: I quit as an instrutor, so I'll have much more time to stop by and say hi.

I've seen you out there a few times. But was way to busy. Last time I was at buttonwillow, I was racing the PTF mazda, time trailing the TTB Mustang and insturcting while helping the other 3 guys we had in our pits.
It was more like a Chinise fire drill.

In 07 I got the track record in TTF in a PRO7 car, but this new car is Soooo much better. But then I may be running in E so who knows. First I need to fix my fuel supply problem.

I ran a 2:02 flat in TTB. Thinking I was all that, just to have Greg do a 2:01.66 in the next run group in his STR4.... The bastard!

I used to work for Tri Point and know most of the guys with Mazdas. So it would be nice to met you as well.

fd3CB: If the I have time, I would lend a hand as well.

Locations to consider for gathering. Add your suggestion.

- Ventura Marina. Usually lots of open parking space towards the far end. Nice Spot to cool off them hot rotaries.
- Channel Island Marina. Same w/ lots more open parking space. Less congestion normally than Ventura's. Although just a little further from 101.

Did you run at Fontana last weekend? If so, how was the turn out? How did you do?

Yes I was there. There was only 3 cars in my class and one of them was the guy that bought the car I used to drive for Wildpony. So I jumped up a class (PTE).

My front shocks showed up at the track, so I was still putting the car together Friday night. As well as dealing with rust in the tank. So I didn't think the car would even finished.

Qualifying last of 6, I worked my way up to 4th by the second lap and was hot on the two Miata's in front of me. David (one of the other 7s) had Alt problems and slowed till it stoped on him. So I ended up with 3ed.

Sunday, Qualifying 4th and the race was uneventful. No passing, no fighting for possition. Everyone finished as they started. David 1st. Miata's 2nd & 3ed. Me running all alone in 4th. Then the rest of the pack. #2 was DQed so I got 3ed again.

Evan gardner won saturday
and Isaac Schumacher did as well. Isaac, had problems (melting s/plugs) friday, so it was good to see his team pull it together.

Sunday I didn't see Evan. But Isaac took 2nd.

Martin Dino (in my old car) took 1st both days

Walter Carlos (in a rx3) took 2nd both days.

I saw at least 5 1st gens and 3 3rd gens in HPDE. So a very good turn out.

lol... no, I did Gears(trans and diff's) Fab, Race car builds, Wireing, Dyno Tuning Motec and Eletramotive installs. Mostly Custom stuff.

I never did the rebuilds. (But that will be changing now that I've gone out racing on my own.)

I have worked for a few racing shops Griggs and Tiger to name a few.

I heard that Evan blew his motor. Spun a bearing, or something like that.

I spoke to Isaac the other day. He filled me in on the ST2 action.

3rd place finishes sound good for a PTF car running in PTE.

Thanks. I have to say, I was happy how things turned out. But now I'm working on finishing it, hopefuly for Buttonwillow.

Bummer about Evan's blown motor.

Hey, do any of you guys have a local alignment shop you can recommend? Experience with track cars / corner balance capabilities preferred.

Superior Classics in SB can do it and is probably who I will end up using, Bob really knows his stuff. I was just hoping there was a closer alternative.

hey guys, i'm gonna head up in the area today (august 1st) in the afternoon for dinner for me and my GF's 2 year anniversary.

i was wondering if you guys have any suggestions for somewhere to eat for dinner around camarillo, oxnard, and ventura area?

planning to grab grub maybe before we head over to Ventura to watch my friend's band, Spartacus perform at Billy O's Restaurant and Saloon. unless this place has good food.

anywho, thanks!

Prime Steakhouse is close by and really good. I think they do a 3 course dinner for $35. Boccalis up in Ojai (the one closer to Santa Paula, there are 2) is a cool roadside Itailan place with lots of outdoor seating and is really nice this time of year.
