Gotboost is on his way back to the US at the time and will not have internet access for a few days. At this time we've reach max capacity for this tune session as we have 8 confirm cars and 2 stand-by.

I'm sure nobody wants a rush job of tuning to be done on their cars, so be considerate of the original guys that committed early to this session.

You can either show up on either day to see if there might be a slot, or if enough people are expressing interest, you can gather up another session to have steve come back at a future date.

I only asked if there was space as I found out about this after it was filled. From what I gathered, the idea was to have your car running good as it was not an R&R session, just a tuning session. As we all know, it is not easy to find a good tuner you can trust. I did contact gotboost, and as the people on the list know, I pm'd them also as I got the idea from reading the forums that some of the cars were not ready for a tuning but were more in need of R&R first or the owners were still trying to track down installers to modify their car for this tuning session. I was certainly not just trying to chime in and get in on the tune and if I did not have serious need for a good tuner, I wouldn't have said anything. I have a car that is done, and the only step needed is the dyno tune on the new setup. Sorry if I offended anyone by asking.

Sorry guys for not responding to the past several posted comments. I am in transition between duty stations and have not access to the Internet. So far as people wanting to by added to the list, the list is full. We have eight solid, confirmed with two stand-by. I will not add anymore to that list, unless someone from the list drop off. I do not know why I keep getting people pm'ing me about wanting to add to the list. This thread has been going on since the middle of december. I am sorry if you missed the thread. It seems like there are several people are expressing interest so maybe one of you guys would start your own thread and have Steve come out another time... But at point, please DO NOT pm'ed me to express interest of the session. We have enough with a few on stand-by.

**Update**

I want to everyone on the list that I am unable to attend this session nor coordinate the event. I got to my new unit on last friday and it turns out they are deploying to the sandbox in a few weeks. I am getting to deploy with them. I just back from Iraq a few months ago, too. Well, I guess its part of the territory.

Everything is still schedule as plan. Insomniac ( Phong) will continue with the coordination and such. He is working out the schedule. So continue to work your cars to get it tip-top shape for the tuning. It is coming up in three weeks. I wish I could be there to see you guys at the session but **** happens....

WOW...Really sorry to hear that. Hope all goes well they are pulling as many people out there as possible. My good friend got discharged about 1 1/2 years ago and talked him into helping out the local reserve unit. Well he decided to help out the reserve unit but shortly after decide he wanted to get out completely. Meanwhile he got a job in San Jose PD they told him it wouldnt be a problem and this was about 8 months ago. Well two weeks ago they just told him hes getting deployed back to the big dirt box!!! He currently has a lawyer trying to fight it but hes faced the fact hes going back and even though he doesnt like it or agree hes ready to go.

Gotboost, sorry to hear about this. I was part of Desert Shield and Desert Storm so I know how they are about giving you advanced notice, which is really none. Stay safe.
I am going down for the tuning day and will be bringing my camera's so at least you will be able to get some nice pictures of the session. Sorry I did not get a chance to meet you at the session.

This is the car I am trying to get tuned.

If there is space on the list, It would be nice to make it official, but if not, I will standby the whole weekend if need be.

Yeah it really sucks that Gotboost won't be able to join us.

So with that, I got delegate the task to keep things organize and I've got most of everyone's info of payment, tuning preference and a tentative schedule for that weekend. I'll go over the information that I got from him and might send out additional PM's or post messages as needed.

Plus to let everyone know, Gotboost's car is still getting tune as we've already made arrangements, so please don't PM me asking if you can fill his spot.

As of now, I don't foresee any other details that would effect you guys, so just keep on working on your cars, and have it ready to tune by then.

Thanks.

Any finalization on the order of tuning for us? I know the list is up, but as for as who is going when is unclear to me...unless the list is what it is as is.

Thanks....

Pretty much I'm going to coordinate Sat and twomucboost4u (Chris) will help me coordinate sunday, just incase I can't show up for both days.

With the help of twomucboost4u this is what we have lined up so far.

Sat................................. Sun.
1. Insomniac................ 1.Unnerv
2.Rotor7FD.................. 2.Gotboost
3.RURX .......................3.Sirashan
4.209FD ......................4.Twomuchboost4u

Given that most cars will take an average of 1.5 - 2 hours to tune.
I'm starting at 9am sharp Sat.
PM myself or post back if you think this is incorrect. If not, this will be the schedule tune.

I just got more info that Steve would like to do most of the work Sat so that he doesn't have to rush on Sunday.

So for the sunday guys, we might need you to tune saturday (if you're close by and can show up) after the first 4 gets done.

Correction:
Sat................................. Sun.
1.Insomniac-9am.........1.Gotboost - 9am
2.Rotor7FD...................2.Unnerv
3.RURX ........................3.Sirashan
4.209FD ......................4.Twomuchboost4u

Erm...last I heard from "gotboost920" through PMs, I was wait list #1. Should I still show up for this? I still would very much like my car to be tuned.

More info for you guys:

1. Bring cash to pay your remaining balance to Steve.

2. Stock turbos - get a second O/2 bung added to your downpipe and make it easily accessible.

3. Single turbos - Remove your O/2 sensor to make sure it's not siezed on there.

4. Change your plugs 1 day prior to tuning, and bring extra plugs just in case of fouling.

FDeez - You were listed as standby, and no deposit was made. As of now we are on a really tight schedule and want to make sure all the paid/confirm guys get taken care of. Check your PM.

For those who are running stock turbos, They should put a 2nd bung that is easy access so that I can put my wideband in. usually, there is a 300-500rpm delay from the end of the exhaust pipe. I like to be able to monitor a/f as close to the engine as possible. It makes it easier to tune the car in a tight schedule.

For single turbo, as long as the O2 sensor isn't hard to get to, they don't need to put an extra bung. Just make sure that they at least try to remove the O2 sensor since I have seen many cars where their sensor was seized onto the bung.

Other than that, I think bringing an extra set of plugs wouldn't be a bad idea, make sure everyone change their plugs 1 day prior to tuning (no earlier or later). this will eliminate fouled plugs and also eliminate a variable of insufficient sparks from old plugs.

Some clarification from the dyno place:

I went down to check out the place at lunch today and talked with the guys there.

Even though we reserve the place for 2 days. They will start charging once the first car hops on, and will only collect the money from one person who is organizing, which will be myself. They are not collecting from individuals. So now I'm financially responsible for paying the dyno shop at the end of each day. So to make it easier, I think all the guys that are using the dyno to at least send me in advance the first hour and we'll figure it out as we go.

People that were planning on using their credit card, please link it up to your paypal account if you don't have any funds in your account.

phong_le@pacbell.net

Pretty much, I don't want to get stuck with a huge bill at the end of the day, while everyone has taken off enjoying their new profound horsepower.

I know most of this info has been posted before but im just trying to get some clarifications and updated pricing to see if anything has changed.. How much is the remaining balance going to be for steve? Is it going to be based on his new pricing plan which depends on your setup? Also how much is the final dyno per hour price and is there going to be any additional hookup fees or what not.

I'm not exactly sure of what steve's pricing from last year as the pricing went up. But I do remember him saying, he'll honor the previous price of 350 per car on a normal tune.

tech3 wants to charge us 90/hr. but talking to some of the other members here, they think that is too high, and for them to not wanting to collect from individual is BS. I'm going to try to talk to tech3 or another place to see if we can get a better rate, or change places if possible.

Yep, Tech III is a bit pricey...good dyno there though. Some other spots Ive seen in the bay are more like 60-80hr for dyno time.

Just a question about adding a 2nd o2 bung for the stock turbo. Are these all a standard size or is there something special I need to find.

Ok guys, after talking to Tech3 again and calling around, it seems like their pricing for a weekend is pretty reasonable at 90/hr. Also they are willing to collect from each individual now, but the catch is you'll need to make a deposit for the first hour when you first come in. If you don't get to dyno on Saturday, save your receipt or proof, then you'll get to dyno Sunday.
They said they will be lenient on the time about strapping on/off. But once you're on, the clock will start clicking and once the first car is done, they want another car up right away.

So just a reminder - please have everything on your car working, and don't bring it to the dyno if you're unsure. We can probably get someone else to fill your space if you're afraid of loosing your deposit with Steve. But it'll be a waste of time for everyone if you're going to try to troubleshoot or hoping for steve to work out the bugs.

unnerv - it should be a regular bung for your stock o/2 sensor

I currently run an FJO wideband. Is a second bung absolutely necessary?

I've heard that you are required to put in the wideband for the tuner any truth to this? My bung hole is not exactly in the best place to get to.
