Is this true? Where's your source? Hasn't it been over 10 years since Big Willie had to shut down Terminal Island. I think the track has been converted to a shipyard.

I remember one of the reasons for closing it was that the "neighbors" complained about noise...yeah, like anyone lived anywhere close to the track!

 

T.I. will never open again, Big willie has been pumping this up for many years now, I use to race there every weekend when it was 1/8 mile then moved to the 1/4 mile track.....It was cool until the low riders starting having the car shows, fights and shootings were normal......wacky is right even if it was open no mazdas would go race anyways.....

Sorry. I do not have the S.Cal history on the park but it seems to have left a pretty big impression on many.

In any case, I wanted to provide this link to what's going on with the raceway. Looks like the passing of is wife messed him up for a while, but he's still going forward with this.
