Track day at Auto Club Speedway in Fontucky Nov. 22nd!

Just posting this up in case some of you want to take your car out on the track on Sunday the 22nd of November. Its $189 for the day and its on the "roval" running counter clock-wise. I'm going to find out if we can get a group discount if we get a few people that are serious about driving this event. So far its 4 people that are going to this event including myself.

More info: http://www.speedventures.com/events/...il.aspx?id=264

I would love to do it but still have to get the dual oil coolers installed (I just picked up a set today) with all the ducting, etc. After that I would feel a lot better about putting my car on that track, that outer bank really loads up your motor if you stay in it, I was talking to a guy in a Subaru last time and his oil temps were up to 300*F!!! (not sure if that was before or after the oil cooler, hopefully before)

I *think* I fixed everything else, car runs like a champ. HOWEVER, I plan on doing the autocross there that is happening that same day Between sessions I usually go and watch the cars on the roval, look forward to seeing you run!!! I'll try to get some better pics this time Did you get your smog situation squared away?

EDIT: who is going, I didn't see any rotaries besides an Rx-8 on the drivers' list.

Im trying to see if I can get some kind of group discount going but I'm waiting for a reply from Speed Ventures before I register. So far the people who are going are: Fris with his junk FC, my cousin in his CTS-V, my cousin's friend in an RX-8 and myself. I'm still trying to get more RX-7s to go *hint hint*

Did you pick up the oil coolers from the FS section? I saw some good deals on them recently. If you need help installing the coolers, let me know and I'll lend a hand. We can have them installed in no time

The weather has been chilly lately and my oil temps are a little too cold just driving around town and on the highway. Hopefully its not a very hot day that day. I've never been on the roval so I dont know what the temps will be like but I'll make sure to keep an eye on them .

Lets get your car ready so you can drive with us

I still havent sorted out my smog situation but I havent had time to mess with the car

Thanks dude, I may have to consult with you about the coolers I hope the weather cooperates too. Weather report seems good up to the Friday before:

http://www.weather.com/weather/wxdet...A0384?dayNum=9

Got a local deal on the coolers, I still have to clean them up and make sure I have all the hardware before I install. With my beat up single cooler (trust me, the fins are totally hosed) my oil temps as measured at the pan are around 180-220*F the last couple of days, depending on traffic (drove on the 405 in rush hour, it sucks), engine load and ambient temps... my water temps have been very happy, never get above ~85*C/185*F... I'll hit you up later next week, I plan on going on Saturday, I think auto-x starts @ 9AM...

I'd love to see your RX-3 out on the track in action instead of seeing it once a year at Sevenstock It would be cool if that Geo had a turbocharged mazda engine under the hood

Me and Robert did the Roval before, it was insanely fun. Sucks that I'll still be in Europe when this happens

Due to lack of interest, I didnt bother bugging them some more about a group discount. So far its just Islandsnow, myself and my cousin that registered for the event. There's still spaces available for any one that wants to sign up.

For those of you who don't know, there's autocross the same weekend, it's $80. It's a lot less stress on your car as compared to the big track. It's still pretty fun, you get a lot of runs and don't have to work the course. I'll be there on Sunday

It was great meeting you and seeing your car on the track. It looked/sounded sweeeeet! We all had a blast being our first time driving on the roval. Fris' headlight cover flew off and was run over by another car (his cars are always breaking/falling apart) but it was returned to him in one piece right before we left the track for the day by a girl that drives another RX-7 I need to finally do some power mods to my car. I think I had the least HP out of us The Porsche's that couldnt keep up in the infield passed me like I was standing still on the roval!

I'm glad we all went home in one piece and under our own car's power. That alone made the event a great one!

I got some video that I need to go over and edit and this is the only picture I took:

The two GT40 guys we meet was pretty cool, one used to own a RX2 back in late 70's and the other gentle men remembered a whole lot about the Rx3 back in his day's. They spent half and hour with me talking about the Rx3, I didn't know they drive the GT40 until I ask...I thought that was pretty cool.

Juan horse power doesn't mean faster lap time. and I see you and fris tear up the track that day. Fris and your cousin went by me on the bank like I was standing still. I didn't want to go faster than 110 felt like my car was gonna fall apart.

Oh and beside the race prep 65 mustang fast back...my car was the oldest and probably the slowest for that day. that's probably why they gave me the garage space next to the ambulance and the fire trucks just in case my car caught on fire.

Hey bro, I was checking out your car, I didn't get a chance to talk to you. It's sweet, I really like how it's set up. I got a hold of a good pic of it a 7stock, check it out:

Cool those Ford GT guys were nice, there was a whole lot of horsepower on the track that day! Lots of cool cars.

And regarding the horsepower comments from Wan, I think that track setup with the roval really shows the difference big HP makes on a straightaway. I agree that it doesn't necessarily translate to faster lap times... it would be interesting to look at the lap times whenever they post them.

In other news, I was at Auto-X that day, it was fun too I posted some video on youtube that should be uploaded fully tonight. Don't expect too much, it's kind of boring, I'm not an expert driver See link in my sig. I'll try to get my **** together so I can come out on the track next Spring with ya'll.
