Here's the scoop.
I was basically just planning on upgrading to a larger turbo and a ss tubular exhaust manifold which is why I would need to retune. However, upon removing the existing GReddy cast exhaust manifold I noticed the rear exhaust sleeve was loose. I then stuck my finger in the hole and noticed that part of the bottom of the sleeve is missing. Apparently the sleeve was ported down too low or there was a lip or something where the exhaust gases would catch the edge of the sleeve, heat it up and peel it back until it went out through the exhaust but not before taking out my old turbos' turbine wheel. Doesn't appear to be any other damage.
So now the motor is coming out and I'm sending it to Steve who is going to swap out the 9.4:1 rotors for some fd rotors slotted for 3mm seals, new rotor housings and possibly a larger port.

There is a decent chance I can get this all back together by then as I have talked to Steve about all this and he is willing to accomodate me. If I can have the engine back by the 27th I should be free and clear. It will be real close as I will probably be breaking in the engine on the drive down to LA for tuning.

I will keep you updated on my status so if I need to cancel, someone on the waitng list can fill my spots. Also, if I cannot make it, Jury in his 3 rotor will back out too but hopefully it won't come to that

Come to think of it, I should just drop out on Saturday now to give you an oppotunity to at least fill that spot if worse comes to worse.
If you can't fill it and I am able to make it, then I'd still like to attend that day.

At least this way you would only have to fill two spots on Sunday if I can't make it. I'll still cover any dyno shop reservation fees for Sunday if I can't make it so as not to unfairly stick anyone with additional dyno costs. Hopefully it won't come to that.

Sorry to hear about you car(RX-Heaven)
If Steve doesn't get my car tuned for pump gas and Race gas, I might need the xtra spot. I have talked alittle with David about this.

David
I think that I will be tuned on pump gas, then have Steve dial it in to the best it could be. Then go to race gas.

I knew Jeff didn't belive me ! SON OF A BITCH !!!!!

ON MY LIFE I SWEAR !

I drove the car in Culver, on Washington and Main, and I felt a shudder, then the car died, at the Light, and I was able to get it to turn over, and limp it to the parking spot from where it got towed.... If I'd messed with the map I'd have, re-uploaded the old one I had and driven it home, not paid $81 to get it towed back to Jeff....

What a ******* ***, I can't belive he'd not only not belive me, but also spread gossip about what he thought happened....

But on the other hand I can understand why he'd say that after I came back with the car all fucked up and it wouldn't start he was like Okay what happend, I explained, then we took a look at the ecu, and he was like whoa, that's not the map we uploaded... and I said yeah, the one you guys tuned on looked different, cause I remembered the shape of the fuel curve. We then tried to re-upload the copy Justin Saved, except he didn't save after he got done the night prior, so basically the map on the ecu was lost, and the backup was no good, I can see how it looked like I messed with things, but I had no reason to.. it ran great, untill the incident in culver. And it's Justin's fault for not saving the map. When I asked him how he was going to hande the fact that he failed to backup the tune, he said I had to pay to get it re-tuned... that's when I knew he didn't belive me....

And I don't feel I have to pay for someone else's carelessness, since even IF I had messed with things, which I did not. It is their responsibiity to backup their tune, and it would have been a clean 10 Second re-upload that I had to pay $81 for a Tow. Which was upsetting in its own right. And yet be still corrupt (keep reading)

So you ask how is it possible that the ecu failed in the middle of the road. Well when the AEM guys showed up later on, since I had asked them for a favor, they said that the map (the incomplete backup that Justin made) was corrupt, and had timing values in the 0.00002 degrees all over, so in my experience if a computer that is expecting integer values of 0-100 sees values of 0.00002 and then does math, multiplication / division it is possible that a value ouside a float, with 8 or 16 bit precision, got generated and caused the ecu to freak.
