Whats up Peter, yeah makes me wish i hadn't got it running, and i had just got back from vacation.

I never rev my car, and the bike cops never hassle me, not even because of my front plate. I guess it just wasnt my day.

I was being polite to the officer but he was just being a dick. I told my friend about what happen yesterday, he said the same cop pulled him over about 3 months ago. He said he gave him the same attitude and gave him a referee ticket too, i guess that cop just doesnt like imports.

I have never got a ticket for driving, so i dont have any points on my driving record, the only times i have got pulled over is for no front plate, and one of the times the bike cop gave me a ticket for the front plate and just a warning for the loud/smokey exhaust.

Well i guess $450 isnt that bad, but now i will be scared of driving my car.

Anyhoo,

Hi there revn, sorry to see that your return to the west section was prompted by a ref ticket. Get your mechanical infractions in check, go to court and show your proof of license and insurance, that'll get your fines down dramatically. Your modified exhaust ticket is a walk in the park compared to your "emissions" citation. That one alone will warrant you to, at the very least, put your cat(s) back on.

I might just pay the fine then change my exhaust and put a resonated cat on to keep the noise down.

My main question is there anyway out of seeing the state referee or do i have to put my car back to stock?
Got to court plead guilty get the fine reduced and pay the ticket...it's not worth going through all the hassel to go back to stock...and stop freaking the **** out...and while your at it read wacky's sig...this game is not the life for everybody...

damnnnnnn tom....your beginning to give me second thought about installing the t78 kit i got from you..i was planning on installing it next week too!!!!!

if you might have a good reason to fight the ticket do it anyways, since they will make you pay for it anyways.. take the chance like i did and contest it. I just won my case a couple of weeks ago. he pulled me over for loud muffler, passenger with no seat belt..(had a 3rd passenger)and for supposedly running a red..its a good chance since he might not show up anyways...i got my money back and nothing on my record..at this point you have nothing to lose..

Tell the judge you bought it that way and it passed the smog test.

then point to the cop with your thumb and say "wtf is that guys problem?"

Or what you could do, is jethot coat everything black. Black looks stock. shiny chrome looks, not stock.

nope no time soon...I got a 79 first gen SA and they stopped raising the bar for smog exempt cars at 1976 6yrs ago...

Anyways...to all the others giving this dude wrong information...

Look man go to court...if you think you win the case and get the ticket dropped plead not guilty and set it up for another trial date...when that happens or you choose to go that route...there's is 50/50 chance the cop will show up...If the cop does not show up all charges will be dropped...if the cop does show up then you need to plead your case to the best of your ability and fight for that win...

The other route you can go is go to court and plead guilty...the judge will then lower the fine...and you will just pay a reduced fee...if you got a hook up on the smog stuff...get the paper work done under the table...go to court...and also then the charges will be dropped...

do a trial by written declaration. type out 5 pages listing dozens of points. this will make it such a bitch for the cop, even if he does have overwhelming evidence against, you, he'll most likely see it as too much work and not respond, and you win via "case dismissed because of lack of prosecution"

thats how i got out of my 55mph in a 35mph zone ticket. TRIAL BY WRITTEN DECLARATION. its on the backside of the ticket, neat the bottom.

You see there are ways around the system to win either way...it's just taking the time to do it...I have done trial by written decaration, pleaeded guilty, shown up for trials, i have always won one way or another...either the cop not showing, getting my fee's lowered, or not paying the ticket at all...

yeah i got out of a speeding ticket using trial by written declaration but can you do that with a state referee ticket?

Considering all the pictures teh cop took and his hatred toward smog removal, i'd bet a forum donut that the cop will show up to court / write his response with proof.

with the pictures you can still win...the pictures are used mostly for profiling...like if the cop or a cop pulls the car over again they can use the pictures as evidence...also can be used in court...also can be used in suspicious parts stolen in the area...win is a win a loss is a loss but either way the ball is on his side not the cop...one person who knows the parts the other who is only go off the pics he/she took...

how about this:

go to court and fight it. when your up plead that the cop is ignorant in knowing about your car and the emission system on it. Ask him to ask the cop how many pistons your motor has, when he comes up with a 4/6/8 answer. Tell the judge to dismiss the case because your car has zero pistons and that the cop is incompetant.

But if he answers with 2 rotors, you might be fuxored.

He still has to setup a hearing date...which means on the date or before the date that is printed on issued ticket...The judge does not want to hear an explanation on the first date...He has to plead to guilty and come back for the hearing date, where the cop will either show or not show...If the cop doesn't show the whole case is dismissed...

It was on the 10 fwy east on Central. I dont have the ticket on me so i dont know his name.

Whats up Tee, nah you should install it. I just had some bad luck that day and the cop wanted to be an *******, i had been rolling single turbo for a while now and this was the first time this happen to me.

I guess i will plead guilty and hope for the best.

What the difference between a correctable and non correctable violation?

Can't you still put it back to stock and go see the ref, or do you have to go to court and make a plea regardless of what the ref says?

I know a couple of people that refused to pop their hoods when ordered to, or asked to see a search warrant (remember Dave).

Everyone I know who refused got their cars impounded but also didn't get tickets for any illegal mods, including one guy who had a totally stock CRX.

correctable meaning you don't have to go to a smog station or ref station to have the ticket validated and pass inspection...any cop can sign the ticket, take that to court and your done...Not correctable means the complete opposite is all it means...

So uncorectable, you can just put it back to stock and go see a ref, get it signed off by the ref as being legal and your done?

Would you still need to go to court and make a plea after that?
