BTW, second hand smoke isn't as DEADLY as it has been made out to be. The statistics, as usual, have been taken out of context. Hell, some have been pulled out of peoples asses...

Now, come on... Listen an ******* is an ******* whether or not he smokes... Who the **** would light up and blow smoke in a baby's face. How about all the people here without cats and those same babies that are strapped into baby seats in the car behind or next to them... is that toxic? I would avoid doing both if I smoked cigs or drove catless. But that's just me. I try not being an *******... sometimes it works sometimes it doesn't.

Nice excuse. I dropped my cigarette butt.
I'm not a rude smoker, I only smokes in the car or at a smoking area. I was letting the ashes fly out the window and it slipped out of my fingers.

Though I don't smoke and have never smoked in my life, I'll take 5 min in a room sitting next to a smoker than 5 min behind a rx7 w/o a cat.

Every time I see cigarette ashes hit the ground in front of my car, I always think "Please car, don't catch fire and explode!!!" Does anyone else do this, or am I just weird?

Besides, if we all stop smoking, guess who will suffer. Mom and pops store and others who rely in the smoking industry.
Wacky, don't bother trying to talk sense to these morons. They don't get it. they're a Bunch of lemmings blindly following the pack.

I guess I run with the sheep because I like running my fingers through the sand at the beach and not have to worry about getting a cigarette butt in my hand.

Cigarette Smoking-Related Mortality

for you smokers....Something to think about...

Cigarette smoking is the single most preventable cause of premature death in the United States. Each year, more than 400,000 Americans die from cigarette smoking. In fact, one in every five deaths in the United States is smoking related. Every year, smoking kills more than 276,000 men and 142,000 women.

Between 1960 and 1990, deaths from lung cancer among women have increased by more than 400%—exceeding breast cancer deaths in the mid-1980s.2 The American Cancer Society estimated that in 1994, 64,300 women died from lung cancer and 44,300 died from breast cancer.

Men who smoke increase their risk of death from lung cancer by more than 22 times and from bronchitis and emphysema by nearly 10 times. Women who smoke increase their risk of dying from lung cancer by nearly 12 times and the risk of dying from bronchitis and emphysema by more than 10 times. Smoking triples the risk of dying from heart disease among middle-aged men and women.

Every year in the United States, premature deaths from smoking rob more than five million years from the potential lifespan of those who have died.

Annually, exposure to secondhand smoke (or environmental tobacco smoke) causes an estimated 3,000 deaths from lung cancer among American adults.

Scientific studies also link secondhand smoke with heart disease.

I don't think you run with the sheep. And, to be clear I think the guy who got the ticket deserved it. He broke the law, and he got caught, plain and simple. But, to Wacky's point, and it is a good one, it is a waste of valuable resoures to make an enforce silly laws. Not this one in particular, but in general. There are much more important things that we could be doing with our money, and there are other social issues that need much more attention than this one.

It like this and like that and like this and uh . . . . . . .it like that and like this and like that and uh . . . . . . .it's like this:

13002.
(a) Every person is guilty of a misdemeanor who throws or discharges any lighted or nonlighted cigarette, cigar, match, or any flaming or glowing substance, or any substance or thing which may cause a fire upon any highway, including any portion of the right-of-way of any highway, upon any sidewalk, or upon any public or private property. This subdivision does not restrict a private owner in the use of his or her own private property, unless the placing, depositing, or dumping of the waste matter on the property creates a public health and safety hazard, a public nuisance, or a fire hazard, as determined by a local health department, local fire department or fire district, or the Department of Forestry and Fire Protection, in which case this section applies.

(b) Every person convicted of a violation of this section shall be punished by a mandatory fine of not less than one hundred dollars ($100) nor more than one thousand dollars ($1,000) upon a first conviction, by a mandatory fine of not less than five hundred dollars ($500) nor more than one thousand dollars ($1,000) upon a second conviction, and by a mandatory fine of not less than seven hundred fifty dollars ($750) nor more than one thousand dollars ($1,000) upon a third or subsequent conviction.

[u]The court may, in addition to the fine imposed upon a conviction, require as a condition of probation, in addition to any other condition, that any person convicted of a violation of this section pick up litter at a time and place within the jurisdiction of the court for not less than eight hours.[u]

Sounds like you can plan on a hundred. If his royal judgship is in a bad mood, you might get a "G-thang" AND the orange jump suit.

Personally, I think they should apply the same fines to those knuckle heads who spit their gum out on the city streets and the freeway. It ends up in the tire treads and then strung all out down the side of the car. A damned biohazard is what it is.

Denis Leary said it best:

"Yeah, we tried to be nice to you non-smokers. We tried. But you just ******* badger us, you know? You won't leave us alone! You got all your little speeches you're always giving to us. All these little facts that you dig out of a newspaper or pamphlet and you store that little nugget in your little ******* head, and we light up and you spew 'em out at us, don't ya? I love these little facts. "Well you know. Smoking takes ten years off your life." Well it's the ten worst years, isn't it folks? It's the ones at the end! It's the wheelchair kidney dialysis ******* years. You can have those years! We don't want 'em, alright!? And I guarantee if I'm still alive, I'll be smoking then. I'll be in my wheelchair, with my adult diapers on and my twenty-five year old non- smoking born again christian son behind me. I'll be going, "Hey! Make sure you wipe this time. I was itching all week for Christ's sake! And get me some more wippets. I'm almost out, you ******* *****! Come on!"

Because you're always telling us, "You know, every cigarette takes six minutes off your life. If you quit now you can live an extra ten years. If you quit now, you can live an extra twenty years." Hey, I got two words for you, ok. Jim Fix. Remember Jim Fix? The big famous jogging guy? Jogged fifteen miles a day. Did a jogging book. Did a jogging video. Dropped dead of a heart attack when? When he was ******* jogging, that's when! What do you wanna bet it was two smokers who found the body the next morning and went, "Hey! That's Jim Fix, isn't it?" "Wow, what a ******* tragedy. Come on, lets go buy some buds.""
