im just cruisin along hawthorne blvd in torrance going home and this new gto gets on my *** and then takes off and i was like what was that? lol so i mash out and catch him and we start running down hawthorne, which is not the brightest idea by far because its cop central but thats alright. we bob and weave through the traffic and finally end up at a light both in the front! YES! seperated by a vw bus and a new mustang gt behind me with exhaust i wait for the stoplight christmas tree. rev to 3k and wait. light turns green and were off! seriously the best launch i ever did, no wheel hop just pure grip!!!!! i beat him through first and second and in 3rd he started to pull on me pretty good. but then 4th came around and it was bye-bye gto. i couldnt beleive how much i pulled on him at this point it was incredible! we get stuck behind some traffic for a bit and then hit some twisties up in palos verdes and i must say this guy was a good driver but still could keep up with the fd! he was a cool as guy though from the uk. he knew all about the fd and asked if i turned up the boost, when i told him no he was shocked. it was good times had by all!

Dude, I won't get into any name calling match wit ya. But I just find it hard to believe you pulled a 400 RWHP "Holden" made GTO. And yes a bit heavy at 3750 lbs yet still outperformed the Mustang and BMW in a heads up comp.

maybe the GTO gave him a little head start not realizing how good the FD is closer to top end? he should have pulled you through 1st at least.

 

I would take a LS2 gto in a second..........add whipple charger and your at almost 700 RWHP in the form of a tank. I personally had a hard on for the 35th anniversary edition Camaro SS. Red with checker flags...... Bad *** ride, But I am Camaro biased.

STREETRACING.............LOL. I dont even bother to show up unless the cars are in the tens. More like light to light fun IMO. Street racers I know dont **** around with imports. I have yet to see one that would have half a chance. I am building a streetracer toy, if anybody want to mess around in a couple of months.

i just posted my experience last night and it was in good fun. i never said the 7 cant lose thats a crock a ****. maybe he wasnt gunning it at first at the light how the hell do i know but i know in the higher end i handed him his ***. i honestly am not much for drag racing which is why i sold my 69 camaro( i also cracked the engine though) and bought a fd which i am now setting up for road racing. and yes the camaro was much faster but i wanted a better starting point for a road car. plus the gto was the guys daily driver, my fd is not. if it was it probably would be broken already lol. advantage gto all the way.
