Scenic Drive on March 10th: San Diego RX Club
Scenic Drive on March 10th: San Diego RX Club
Join us next Saturday for another drive around the county.
This will be one of our shorter drives, but you will still get to experience the ups and downs of the county. We will be running along steep hillsides and through tree-covered canyons. The roads can be narrow; the corners can be very tight.
You will get a workout as there are few long sections for cruising, save for the beginning and the end of the drive. Something like warm-up and cool-down laps on the track. There will be one break mid-way through the drive, so you can have a breather
Departure Point
Date: Saturday, March 10, 2007
Place: Safari Coffee Roasters
Meet: 9:30 am; driver’s meeting at 10:00 am
Depart: 10:15 am (sharp)
Directions to departure point:
Safari Coffee Roasters (http://safaricoffee.com/Findus.htm)
1012 West El Norte Parkway, Escondido
Phone: 760.740.9575
They are located off the I-15 Freeway. Take El Norte Parkway, head West and turn right into the first driveway. You will see them straight ahead,
to the left of Vons.

Hope to see you there,

I'm in!
Edit: Say, does anyone want to let me borrow a video camera to mount in my car and record the drive? I don't really care what kind or size the camera is, as long as it outputs RCA connectors (the red, white, and yellow connectors) I can get it on to my computer.
I can rig up some kind of mount for it, so hopefully it should yield some good footage.

Just a reminder for this weekend's drive - March 10th.
We will be hitting the north county area of San Diego. If you're looking for hills, narrow roads and tight turns, then this drive might be for you.
Come join us on Saturday. See the initial post for time, location and other information.

I would love to go, But unfortunately I have a Miura at work that is on a show deadline and my next 3 weekends are takin. Do you do this every month? Besides I want to paint mine mine before I go rolling up to an rx7 club. Im going to shoot it an altered version of Mystic Teal , Its a sutle version of a camelean color from teal green to blue. Let me know when the next is. I will be posting some pics of my project soon. Its an 84 Low miles. It was owned by the father of a friend of mine who drove it too the store on weekends then he passed away , so my step son bought it and let it sit since 2004. It runs perfect and the interior is nice, just the paint is all faded from sitting in the sun of Palm Springs for years. Sounds like a Fantasy story but its true. Have a good one guys
jinx,
Sorry to say but we don't run these every month. Don't quite
have the time to organize and scout out the routes. The desire is there, though.
Just keep an eye out for San Diego-specific events. I always put
"San Diego" in the thread title so it is easy for rotorheads to find local events.
BTW, we have a karting challenge coming up on April 7th and a
street rally on May 20th. Search the forum for the specific threads.

Dammit! I passed you guys up on my way to another car meet (not knowing of this cruise)...however I was in a rental because I wrecked my FD last Tuesday.
Just seeing all you guys (and me without my FD) made me think that up there, somewhere, God must have been laughing at me.
