Well it's that time of the month for the San Diego monthly meet to crack off as we get ready for winter...That and this event monthly meet is taking place a week after Seven Stock...Not only that we are going to be losing a member of the rx7 forum for a few months....

Address: 2750 dewy Rd bld 93 "This is the old Marine Base next to "MCRD" that has been restored by the McMillians Companies...Beautiful location, ample parking space, and guess what no crowds, or PT cruisers to fight with...And the best part is that a forum member works here at this location as well has girl friend!!!

not hattin but why you gusy always do it on the day when we are supposed to meet up at fudds. Me , steve,john,dave and some other new faces showed up at fudds this past saturday. all im saying is that if we had it like always we can have a big crowd,instead of two meets going on at the same time. changing it around causes confusion on people that can't always be on the forum. just my two cents

we want a new location something different...this place as a huge parking lot i will provide pics...this is the regular monthly meet just at a new spot...Plus a forum member and girl friend work here...food is great location is great

 

yeah and im all for that but i guess we'll have to find out a way to let the other folks that arent on here know whats going on. and lets not forget about the original rx7 old timers that founded the club back in the 80's

 

I agree with your statement very strongly. I have a feeling that some people will be upset and affected by the change. Your concerns are very genuine and I believe that this change come about do to the simple fact that We Needed a Recharge to increase attendance and not create any friction. I have been to this location twice and as stated by Teddy, It has lots to offer in the ways of space and great food. With any change in life it will take some time for the majority to get on board.
I am looking forward to having the meet there!!! see you all there.

I don't think the old timers will have a problem with it...And also many of the old timers were enlisted and grew up around a military enviornment...So coming to this location should bring back fond memories...I know it does for me, because about 10 yrs ago this part of the MCRD base was in operation with marines and recruits coming and going out of this base..It's a win win situation...

Really i never complained about the drive...specially when im coming one exit from the Mexican boarder...And another forum member is coming straight out of mexico to come to the monthly meets...It's only once a month...and for some of us like myself, i know i drive more then that in one week...

yeah im in.

but you have to realize i drive less than 3 miles each way to and from work. i never really leave del mar/solana beach/encinitas/cardiff except for car ****.....pt loma is a hell of a lot further than mira mesa but its far better than la mesa was......

 

+1 this is a great location by far. and yes it's only once a month.

 

i do personally think it sucks to limit who goes though by changing the venue and not bothering to tell anyone that isnt online regularly.

 

^ this is definitely a concern. we need to make sure that others who have contact with members who are not active on the forum be aware of the new change.

 

point remains changing the location without everyone being a part of the decision and without warning is pretty lame. especially because most of the people that dont know about the change and had no say in the decision started this club and have been around a hell of a lot longer than most of you.

I go and make the best of it. It's Called Desire to attend. If you have not noticed lately the majority has become the minority and vis a versa. Guys Like Teddy and few other make great efforts make the San Diego Meets(once a month) a great event. Plain and simple if you have the desire you will make the event. It's not that serious.

you want a solution? make the next meet where its suppose to be (fudds) and ask EVERYONE involved for their opinion.

Perhaps we should if people gave a **** and responded to ideas and changes. Humans in general are not fans of changes anyways. I'll agree with you on the fact that there needs to be better method of informing people of the latest change but, I'll stick with me original point of view " The desire to attend" they will find the information on the new location if they so desire as i did in finding Rotary meets in San Diego.

 

is this what the meet's are like? bunch of arguing? Sound's fun...a meet is a meet if you dont wanna go dont effen go..simple as that. but it is nice to notify those that do attend..you know how old timer's are..they get all butthurt. damn wippersnapper's..!

we would like to make this our regular meet if possible...it's a nice location, there are no cops worry about, and the location is awsome...We don't have to fight for parking, nor do we have to be parked away from one another when the parking lot is full...A forum member works here at this establishment as well as his girl friend so having us all sit together in a special party room they have is awsome...you in or what

To the rest I just got done trying to pm just about everybody i could remember off the top of my head for the october 4th meet...If i forgot somebody im sorry...Hope to see you all out there

 

We haven't had to many meets that have been all over the place for our monthly meets...The sept meet was an end of summer bbq meet... the aug meet didn't go to well with about 3-4 peeps showing up...the july meet was pretty good with autotech showing out hard and the one before it for june was pretty good as well, i think that was a farewell for mike merryguy "May god be with him and his family"...So for the most part...the monthly meets are held at fudds with the exception of two bbq's and the air museum meet i think im not sure...but either way with change comes great success, but it's a hard road to get to...Im pretty stocked about it as well as a few other forum members...Hope to see you all out there...
