Yes, I know international shipping is a bitch! It is nice being domestic I have only seen the FDs one time...
Jason,
Actually, neither of the items were purchased where I think you are thinking of. I know I can buy books where you are thinking of, but not sure about the rest of the items. Perhaps we can arrange a tour if you guys make it out here. The group of 17 was purchased at a transportation museum that did have a little rotary history (easy to see as this was in Hiroshima)

R32 with a proper setup for DD would be nice, However calculating the current Japanese used car market and how the older 70's Skyline are considered old school classics they are not cheap to buy thus not worth it IMO.
Also I don't think you would be driving too many miles on the weekend to justify buying anything luxurious. I would take advantage of the already available transportation you have with the family car and really look into buying something which you would consider shipping back to the states with you.

Rice is planted!
The rice is planted! Me planting a portion of one patty...
After a long Saturday and half-day Sunday, all seven patties are done!
Still finding nice cars...a Yota Hachi (Toyota Sports 800) I saw at a local car shop.

Will be putting the figurine away tomorrow (They are normally displayed for each male child as it is supposed to bring good fortune. They are displayed the day after girl's day (early March) and put away on 6 May).
As today is the last day of "Golden Week" (basically a holiday from 1-5 May), we went to a local festival near the river. My wife's nephew (9 years old) participated in hand-catching fish out of the river).
My wife's nephew and my son, Kai, getting their pic taken at the festival...
While walking up the street to the festival, I spotted the following: Nissan Skyline from the C10 series (68-72). It is a 4-door 2000 GT.
Went to an Anpanman (Japanese classic cartoon) show after the festival...
Lastly, saw the clean S15 at a local department store. Not the nicest I have seen, but still nice. Unfortunately, I never have my camera when I come across really nice cars. This pic taken with a cell phone.

Rick,
Depending on timing of your trip, I could take some time off from work and you would be more than welcome to crash at my place in Iwakuni (west of Hiroshima). Contact Michael and I am sure he could give you a better idea of when he and Gene (maybe others) plan to come out here. I am trying to track down the dates for the 2011 Tokyo Auto Salon (usually in January).

Update from the Tokyo area
My wife and I sucked it up and drove 12.5 hours from Hiroshima to Tokyo to pick up my dad at Narita airport. It was a long drive, but we weren't real confident in him transiting from Narita to Haneda, and we had some friends we wanted to visit in Tokyo anyway. Anyway, had a little free time prior to picking him up...
Nice FD that the shop would NOT let me take pics of. I think it was a strange request for a "Gaijin" to ask to take pics of a car. It was located at a used car dealership, but I am not sure if it was for sale or not. It may have just been there for routine maintenance. I convinced my wife to shoot this pic from the car as I was driving slowly by...
Drove through the rain and ended up here...
While walking around and gawking, Mr. Hidehiko Hori (general director) came out to talk to me. He spoke a little English and my "limited" Japanese worked pretty well. He ended showing me more of the car. From what I understand, the car is famous in Japan and I believe it is a Time Attack car.

More from RE Amemiya
Some more pics of cars at RE Amemiya...
White FD that has a prominent "M7" on it. M7 is a sponsor that builds race parts (I saw many guages). I believe they are Malaysia-based, but have growing aspirations in Japan.
This is a D1 car that I believe has a peripheral port motor that makes 600 ps at 1.2bar and revs up to 9000 rpm. Looked like it was going through major renovations...
More RE Amemiya goodness...
Spirit R with a Carbon fiber hood. Interior was so nice...
