San Diego-Farewell dinner for Charlie (Caredden)
Have some time to post a few pics...
Saw this R34 at one of the local used rims/tires shops. One of the nicer ones I have seen. Just sucked that is was raining like a **** and I was not going to stand in the rain with the D90...

Also a tucked SC430 at the same shop...

Even small cars ride on pimp rims here. Not sure if he had Meisters or SSRs...

For the Pokemon fan (yes, there is one that I know of)...

The rest are pics of a small junkyard that is 5 minutes from my wife's family house. I have not inspected the cars...yet
I am waiting on formal permission to see them up close.
Two FCs (red and black)

White FD (hatch open)

And for the AE86 fans out there...

Drove into the city today
Drove into Hiro by myself today, so I had some time to do a few things. I stopped by a shop as I was driving in. They were closed, so no issues with taking pics. First up is a VIP style Lexus...

Then a nice G35...

First visit was Up Garage and it was packed with people! Had a few new items of interest, but nothing I "had" to have. I saw this as I was leaving...

Stopped by McDonalds on the way home and had this park next to me as I was getting ready to leave. A relatively young kid with a really cute girlfriend (not that I was looking).

Last pic is of a car near my wife's house. I have seen the guy a couple of times, but this is the first time I have had the chance to take pics of his car. I forget which model he drives, but it is slammed...

Still have not been granted access to the junk yard, so no update on the cars. I have been out sight seeing with the family and have these to post.
This is from the Japanese Maritime Self Defense Force museum in Kure, and yes, it is a real sub in the open air. From what I understand, this is the only one in the world displayed this way. The tour takes you through a portion of the sub and you get to look out the actual periscope...

Spent this last weekend visiting Shuhodo caves. No pics from the inside, as it was really difficult to get pics with a stock flash and no tripod...

From there we went to a Safari land where you could actually drive through the area in your own car. They just mentioned that you need to keep your windows and sunroof closed. You get up close and personal with cheetahs, lions, bears, and tigers. This tiger was about 5' from the car. Pretty cool.

Saw this as we were leaving Safari land. Small van rocking the 4-lug BBS rims...

What's up guys?
Earthquake and Tsunami have not affected us too much, as I am pretty far West of Tokyo. Earthquake seems to have done a lot of damage to areas North of Tokyo. My area is currently under a Tsunami advisory and we are expecting a .5 meter wave in about two hours. Don't think it will be too bad for us.
I have a strong feeling that the death toll is going to be pretty high from this one...
Thanks again guys.

wow, its great to hear you all are ok. Man judging what we saw from the past few serious earthquakes I can't believe so many buildings are still standing. Goes to show how well japan is prepared.
Fisa,
Japan is definitely prepared, as earthquakes aren't exactly uncommon; however, I don't think anyone could have prepared for this magnitude of an earthquake and the associated tsunami. Not to make light of the situation, as I know there are going to a massive death toll, but IMHO this would have been a lot worse had it happened in the middle of the night when everyone was home and asleep.
The U.S. military is mobilizing several ships, and I presume aircraft to help with moving in humanitarian aid. I would imagine that my duty station will be coordinating some sort of relief effort early next week, as clean up is going to take awhile...
Thanks again for all the positive comments from everyone.
