Up Garage
A couple of pics from Up Garage. I am still sorting through the many I took. Wife said I was strange-looking walking around the store with a D90 around my neck...
Can you say seats???
One very small sample of the many rims they had...
Exhaust, exhaust, exhaust...
Strut bars...

No FD for me...
Although I have the wife's blessing to buy an FD (even Spirit R), I will not be purchasing an FD during my stay here. With me seeing a '93 FD advertised for $1800 does make me think of reconsidering my stance...
I have seen plenty of nice FDs, R34s, S-15s, and Hachi Rokus (for Michael), but the car that has really struck me is the R32. Plenty of clean R32s roaming the streets and I have seen a couple advertised for sale in the $7,000 range. I would love to have one...
But, if I really had my way, and was willing to spend the cash, I would pick up a '71 Nissan Skyline. I would link to a pic, but my internet connectivity is spotty and could crash at any second...
Here is a great article on a beautiful Skyline...

I have done a little research and nice Skylines are selling for prices in excess of $19,000 (depending on the motor).
I will be driving a Mazda Familia, as it was my father-in-law's old car. Car is in great shape and will get the job done while we are here. The wife will be picking up a smaller car soon...
Having fun...

R32 with a proper setup for DD would be nice, However calculating the current Japanese used car market and how the older 70's Skyline are considered old school classics they are not cheap to buy thus not worth it IMO.
Also I don't think you would be driving too many miles on the weekend to justify buying anything luxurious. I would take advantage of the already available transportation you have with the family car and really look into buying something which you would consider shipping back to the states with you.

Update
Dane,
Chasers are very nice and readily available as well. I just don't really have a need for the car.
Some recent pics:
a decked out rally-setup. Not sure where he races, but his car is set up
Check out his camera mount (camera still mounted). Would be stolen in a heartbeat in the states...
Entrance to the Mazda Proving Ground (located about 15 minutes from the wife's house). My wife's uncle works at Mazda and I need to see which engines are worked on here...
The track is mainly blocked from the road by many trees and tall road-side brush
Autobacs in the next city. I was actually disappointed with this particular store. Not a whole lot in terms of selection...
