If you don't mind the travel bring it down to my smog shop in Santa Clara and we can check it out to see where it stands, even smog it if it passes.
If you do need some work done on it take it next door to Rotorsports and get it done right the first time. I've known Paul for 4 years now and wow that guy will blow you away with his knowledge and passion for Rotaries. He's been working on and racing rotaries for 30+ years. 6 years longer than I have been alive.
Haven't had good luck with Rick's myself.

I'm thinking the only thing you can adjust is that variable resistor with lean to rich setting
( L ----R ) mounted by the passenger strut tower. That's the only thing I can think of.....
