Quick California Smog Question.

Just curious if you are missing your exhaust tips if they would fail you for that.

i doubt that, why would you fail a smog test because of an "exhaust TIP" or do you mean another thing?

exhaust "TIPS" are cosmetics only

Well I mean the pipe is broken inside the muffler. I don't think they would fail me for that but just curious if anyone had any experience.

I guess I am also trying to convince myself that I need to get some RB mufflers lol

lol sounds like a rare occurance, i think it is free to return for a resmog if you failed the first time. correct me if i'm wrong

imo a crack in the muffler pipes probably wouldnt cause such a leak that it would cause you to fail but i don't know about such a situation or the severity of it

Won't cause a failed smog. But might get you a ticket for loud exhaust.

Replace your muffler with a used stock one at the least. Hell, I've got one I'd sell you for $50 if you come pick it up.

just to make sure its clear this is the issue lol

I ask only because I wanted to see if anyone had an issue with their exhaust being like this and smog. I don't even have to smog anytime soon lol.

lol the easiest thing to do is to go to a smog station and ask them, and yet again i still havnt gotten a response if you can retest for free if you failed first time.

i havnt smogged for a while and last i remember, there were no "visual" inspection

dude i dont think exhaust tips would be part of the visual inspection because well theyre just tips. your whole exhaust is still complete and they still can stick their probe in your cars hole lol

^ sigh cali has such retarded laws... anyways last i smogged i was running semi rich, car was super cold and had a fart can on there, 95 car so i had to get that pre 95 butt probe thing.

barly passed, but if the car was running as it is now i'd pass w/ flying colors with same set up
