Took the supercharger off to replace the pulley, then found out it made a mess of one of the brackets, so I'm taking the whole unit over to San Diego Superchargers and see what they can do. Once I figured out what I was doing, it only took about 5-10 minutes to have everything off. Should have her back on the road sometime this next week once I get the pulley deal straightened out. Anyway, just thought you guys would appreciate pictures of these superchargers. They're like turbos except instead of being exhaust driven, they are run off the serpentine belt. Pretty cool setup. And this is what it looks like all bolted-on.

You're a gearhead so I knew you'd appreciate the pictures. I was completely foreign to these kind of blowers until 2 years ago. It's been a learning experience to say the least. They require more maintenance than turbo systems, but they're more street-able IMO. Everything's a trade-off of course. I'm looking into an oil drain system for the supercharger(it has it's own self-contained oil), and maybe getting a smaller supercharger pulley. I'm at 8psi right now, but could theoretically run 10psi on the stock motor. Awful tempting.

Well you have additional tensioner and idler pulleys on the drive system that go with the supercharger, and it's added stress to the serpentine belt. The Serpentine belt drives everything. Water pump, power steering pump, alternator, supercharger, etc. So when a pulley or the belt goes, you lose everything(which is what happened to me). It's generally a good idea to change belts every couple of years, and check on the bearings for the pulleys every year or two to make sure they're still in good condition. Not a real big deal, but just something to keep an eye on.

This is the dyno from last year after I had a couple things tweaked(radiator relocated, stock rad fans put back in, changed the way the air filter was setup and built a shroad for the radiator). I've been running blown since early 07' and this is my first mis-hap with the car. The engine takes daily abuse and has gone on over a dozen mountain runs and has seen 160mph.

Hopefully this'll get me motivated to work on the poor FD. She's feeling unloved right now.

[Borat]Very Nice great success[/Borat]

Doesn't it feel great to do the work yourself? I would do absolutely every single piece of work on all my vehicles if I had the tools and facilities at my disposal. It's such a great feeling of satisfaction when you've finished, and you're that much closer with your pride and joy. Are you going to stay N/A with your FC? Or do you plan on boosting it in the near future?

Unfortunately my FD is starting to push me towards the LS motors. Considering in the past 2 1/2 years, it's only been driven 500 miles, and the C5 has been driven 12k miles... If I don't get her road-worthy by summer, I'm pulling the drivetrain and selling it, then piecing together an LS3 swap.

naw im throwing a 13B-RE in my GTUs, T70 turbo.
A preview for what is to come.......

Going to either get a new Vmic,
or re-weld this one..

LS3 would be ******* bad ***!!, but since you do got a vette already, i say just take your time on the FD, make sure its built right, and youll be good.

I got a set of ground control coilovers with 350lbs springs and camber plates (ground control also?) from the junkyard.... I think i set it too low, a lot of bump steer (no turn-in spacers).

Finally, finally able to post some pics after almost 3 years of this project in the making. Far from complete, to be sure, but I'm finally becoming enamored with my FD.

What wing should go on here??? I like Feed or R1, which I've got, but with a carbon center section.

Finally!
