I think I should buy Bob Villa's new book on "how to secure the garage." Thats to keep a few people (ehemmmm) off my garages.

... for parts at wrecking yards. I get parts very cheap, no more than $30 for wiring harnesses. lots of aftermarket FPR for 5-10 apiece. scored a great condition s4 turbo for 50, sold it for 175. s4 or s5 spoilers are 25 in great condition and s5 tailights are 30 each in great condition. just gotta know where to look and know the right people.

But you still dont get it do you. Whatever we pay at the register is only a cover up. The rest, we pick-up on the other side of fence.

Forgive me if I sound rude but, dropping in on this thread and just commenting that we 'socal people pay to much', is the same as, 'hey, i only paid $2.00/gallon for super unleaded.......'.

Ok, although you are in NorCal, you are a fellow rotorhead (I presume), why not provide more input or details as to how and where you are able to get better pricing. If it's merely knowing where to look and knowing the right people... then your post was merely a brag because it does us no good - except for us knowing now that you charge over 150% mark-up.

BTW - I only paid $20.00 for the wing - and selling an item with over 150% markup on a part that does not come with a warranty (turbo) and is used would make me feel like a sleazeball.

I rarely sell anything I get from the yards. I only sold the turbo because I didn't need it at that time, though I do now. and the 175 was his offer. Most things like aftermarket FPR I give to buddies of mine who do what they want with them. Everything I sell is sold as is with no warranty. I have yet to hear anything negative about things I have sold.

as for getting good deals, I can and I can't help you out. I don't know what kind of a person you are, laid back, bossy, got to get the final word in, .... everytime I go to a yard the people there are wondering how my cars are doing. you got to be able to read a person.

I understand that, but the fences are usually about 25 feet tall with razor wire and you need a smoke wrench to get through them. most times if I don't get the price I want, I flash a little card in my wallet.

A buddy of mine used to work as a night patrol at a yard at had really bad problems with people breaking in in the middle of the night. He would have his paintball gun and when he saw someone hop or start climbing the fence, he send a couple of ***** their way. never hit anyone, just mainly to scare them away. til one night when some guy and his partners started shooting back with real guns, he quit after that.

I've never seen a car stay in a pic a part yard more than 2 weeks. BUT, I'll check it out.

Thanks.

And, if anyone else has Vert Pic a Part intel, please share.

I scored last Thursday at PUP's 50% off. almost new 3-row short radiator, OC, S2 3rd member with LSD, FB Tokico illuminas front/rear, RE 13-B header and few other items for less than $150.

Not So-Cal, but I have found some pretty cool stuff at some of the smaller pick n pulls. The one in Henderson NV, is worth checking out. About a month ago I scored a set of pretty much new Ground Control Coil Overs, Tokiko 5 ways, Front and Rear Sway Bar, All poly eurethane bushings, ground control camber plates and tokiko blues in the back for around $150. It was an 83 FB. I have two LSD rears or I would have grabbed that as well. The Las Vegas yard off of lamb had some FCs last time I was there. As wacky said, the stuff is drying up though. If anyone is ever in Chico CA, that place used to be over loaded with 7s. Same goes for the South Sac Pick n Pull.
