oil pressure problems

so im driving then all the sudden i look down and see my oil pressure is at 0

i was ***** deep in jamul like all the way up skyline truck trail and couldnt see **** cos it was dark and i couldnt find my flash light

so i like coast all they way back down mebe like 10 miles (its the longest hill ever) with the car off to a 7/11 park it check the oil its not empty, go in buy 2 quarts throw them in push my car back to see if its leaking and it wasnt, turn on car on and let it idle for like 15 seconds oil pressure still said 0. so i pussed it back a little more, still no leaks, check my oil and its like super full,

i dunno whats wrong

any one? i guess the gauge coulda broke but its just my stock gauge cluster, and ive never had problems with it ever.

motor seemed like it was running fine though i drove it home.

i forgot to mention i have a 88 gxl, and a few days ago the hose that goes from my heater core to my block broke so i put a new one on,

is there sumthing in that area that i could have unpluged on accident or sumthing? that goes to my oil pressure gauge?

First, I would check the loose wire for the oil pressure gauge, it's right under the oil filer. That connector comes off easily.

that OPG connector sucks ***! You can tweak it a bit to hold tighter BTW.

thanks for the help every one,

car is driving fine, i check and saw nothing unplugged at all, but where the sensor is on the block underneath the oil filter, or behind it what ever, its showing bare wire. i guess ill just get aftermarket one.

should i relocate my oil filter while im at it?

and yes looking down and seeing zero oil pressure is scary. lol
