This actually has performance advantages. Stiffens the sidewall to prevent tire flex. Some race teams actually do this.

However, like many things, people just take it to extremes.

I've already posted these pics and video in a few places... and I know everyone here hates v8s but whatever, I was there anyway :p Here's some pics of me and meiogirl other ppl took. I didn't take any pics that day cuz I was lazy and just felt like relaxing between driving sessions.

Video from track. Last session of day. I was in blue group, they combined us with tan folks at the end of the day. Yes this track is fast... if you want to haul this is the place to do it. First time there, I ran a 1.53.xxx, a clean lap, which is honestly kind of embarassing considering I know guys with a lot less HP running faster times lol. Much props for guys who don't need as much power to go fast. I know a lot of the miatas were moving really fast thru the corners, just not on the straights

Although... the track is scary. It took me the better part of the day to increase speeds. I was braking early and not really on it in a lot of the turns, esp. after my turn 3 spin earlier in the day. Turn 8/9 is scary too and it's kind of hard to know where to put the car. I could prob shave a few seconds just by getting that part better and getting on the gas sooner coming out of 9. Oh well had a great time. Except for my oil hitting 270* but the car didn't seem to care

Also, another cool vid by "bean bag photography"

haha, yeah, I like the perspective looking down the hill. kinda gives you an idea of the elevation change. there's another pic somewhere posted with the two 4 rotor cars chasing each other here. I think I'm going to make a poster out of it if I can find it again.

Which reminds me... did anyone take pics driving in to the place? There is a real good view looking up at the hill where turn 3, etc. is.

yeah, I wish that was true. I was just too eager going in, didn't slow down enough coming in to turn 3. If you look there are two sets of tire marks, one where I started to swing one way and then the other direction.

Anyone else have videos? I know all you guys got go pros these days!
