Yeah been working there for awhile now. Plan on going to MJC for a little while though am still looking at other possibilities. Don't worry you talked me out of becoming a mechanic lol. Probably going to go into computer engineering.
Since you live in Riverbank you're not too far off we should kick it some time lol.

No extra one but I plan doing an emissions removal so if you can wait till I finished smogging in sept lol. I would just need to get myself a gutted cat just to be safe if I ever do get pulled over.
Obnoxious, I believe.... anyways sounds like a good setup Jackie, where's the Video?!? :-)
In anycase if it ends up not being cooked you could have at it.
And I can see again while driving at night!

I'll be replacing mine shortly actually, Ben's going to cut it open (not the main cat itself, just what I have right now is the pre, main, and split air pipe all welded together) and see whether it was completely toasted or not or if maybe it was just the pre + fresh rebuild that was causing me to not pass smog.

Yea Ben is the man, he helped me a lot with my FD.
Why are you going to gut a main cat? If anything you should just gut the pre's since they don't really do anything for emissions. If you gut the main you'll just make louder, smellier, and more polluting for maybe 2whp?
yea, you really won't gain a ton of power by removing it or the emissions on an N/A. i know everyone has the desire for power but there really is only a few HP to squeeze out of one without doing decent porting, intake, exhaust, EMS and full emissions removal. the best thing to do is just live with it until you get a turbo put together, since it is a % based increase then with a turbo pushing out decent power only then it is really worth the hassle.

Hi Ben!
I am actually doing an emissions removal in prep for installing my standalone and practicing some tuning. I don't expect to make any gains in power or anything, its more so to simplify the motor. I really do want to just get my hands on some messed up cats that I can gut out that way I don't waste the cat I have on and I don't want to run just a straight pipe just in case I do get pulled over and they look under. If anything though, I am a little concerned about the 5-6th ports functionality with a gutted cat.
what's up Jake, how's the 'vette been treating you?
i can understand that then, it is much easier to learn how to tune on an n/a than a turbo motor, don't ask how many "experiments" i went through during the process of learning tuning on a turbo rotary... i still have a couple of trophies.

It's a great car, I love it. I do miss my FD, but not the problems. I will probly get another one for an LS1 swap someday but for now I'm pretty content.
I'm on vacation right now, so I'll be working on my FB. Hoping to get it running before I go back to work. BTW I still have that GSL-SE motor if you want it Ben. No front cover or oil pan but if you want it I'll make you a deal.

Yeah I've been going over it in my head for awhile and decided that I wanted to learn to tune now rather then with a turbo 6 port. I had contemplated keeping all or some of the emissions but decided that at this point in time it was... pointless. lol

Saw it while dropping my gf off at the train to work, so went back with my hobo jacket and beanie, parked the car, walked out into the cross walk picked it up, then put it in the trunk and drove off. I felt very hobo-ish it was awesome.
I got a beat up cat I picked up off the street you can have lol. Wait no, I was going to try to turn it in at a recycling center for monehs.

yes, the rumors are correct. RE may be moving to las vegas but i will still be visiting norcal several times a year because all of my family lives in the area.
i do have a few cat casings as a matter of fact, from my TII that came on the car, the cats themselves are completely wasted inside but it doesn't sound like thats what you need anyways. but they are universal cats on a TII midpipe so they would have to be cut off and welded to your piping.

So its almost official guys, I could be joining the Air Force.
I think we will have around 4-6 FD's from the V8 forum all going to cruise down on the friday before seven stock. I think we are going to meet up in the east bay.
I should have my 95 "done" in time and it will be its first trip in over four years. The last time it drove that far was when I drove it home the night I bought it.
