Oh! and by the time you do graduate and get a decent job... I'll have the NSX, the go-kart, and an FC too!
But by that time you will be 40 with kids, i'll be in my early 20s J/K
Well i'm glad you're keeping the FD, i'm sure Jackie would be mad at you if you sold it with all those late nights you guys had working on it.
All i'm saying is if you're keeping the FD as a weekend car it's bound to break. It's a car it happens.... and it just happens to be a single turbo FD. Not nocking you or Ben seeing how you somehow brought him into this conversation.

But ya if you're looking for a toy I still say get a go-kart and start racing it. Or build a widebody FC for autoX and time attacks.

holy crap, long time no post.

Well guys... its been a ruff harsh couple of months..

bascily story goes like this, me and my gf broke up, became homeless, no phone, money car, only thing i have is a job, a duffle bag with 3 shirts, and 1 pair of jeans. these are my ONLY possessions.

Im getten back on my feet. as some of you know my FC was impounded but on the positive side, im buying a black 91 vert for a very very low price its got 113k origional miles, no body damage and it runs awesome! I should have that in about 2 weeks. also i'll be moving into a house around the 20th of july. so i'll then be back on the forum more often as i once was.

so just if anybody was wondering... i didnt die. just came real close

Dude, I don't know you but that sounds rough, and I wish you mad luck! If all else fails... I'd recommend the military (Air Force that is) I know a lot of people that have been through some horrible times and it turned their lives around...any path you choose good luck and be safe...

I really wanna make some friends here, so if anyone wants to give me some basic stuff I might want to know or just wanna say hi, give me a PM or better, just give me a IM. My aim is: SoulharvesterZZ

Look forward to talking to you guys soon.

Sorry if this is in the wrong section but I am from Vacaville .....so check out what I did with some $20 aluminum sheet metal from Home Depot and some metal snipers.

It seriously dropped my temp gauge needle from just above 50% to just above %30 (my OEM temp gauge doesnt have numbers) It works!

I am now working on a bottom scoop at the bumper opening to force even more air through my radiator and not under or over the engine bay!!!!! not bad results for a $20 home made job. (and no unbolting any engine parts)

I was going to put in a cooler thermostat (180 in stead of the 190) but this is working really good.

before

(I am sure I will get questions and comments on the engine...its a BAR stickered V8 with working A/C in a 90 FC)

for more complete sealing go to home depot or lowes and look for 1/2" high density foam weatherstripping (glue on one side) and put it on the underside of your panel. It'll help seal better and also prevent rattles. Costs under a dollar for 6ft IIRC.

yeah I was already thinking of that but this sucker works so good as it is. I did drill some holes and ad some self tapping screws just to hold it more snug to the core support and that dropped the temp even more. I guess air was still forcing its way over the radiator but now it has no where to go but through it!!!! I hope I dont over cool my engine??? (like the stat staying 100% closed to try and warm up the block and it still isnt heating it up to designed operation temps)

i saw your car on craigslist mixflip... so you're moving?
You must have had some serious cooling problems if you had that big of a change in temps, i didn't notice any change really when i put one of those on my car, i did notice a pretty big change in temps when i put the stock lower radiator shroud on.

yeah I am trying to anyways? I have a 2nd house in Vegas and my wife has family support there for our newborn. I just need to sell my condo up here and find a job there. I plan on staying up here til I find a job since its hard to quit the gravytrain a.k.a. the oil refinery I work at.

Refiney work pays well but it is dangerous, also ... I am just sick of this oppressive **** state of California. The housing market is ridiculous, the car laws are lame (smog and swaps), the gun laws suck (no assault weapons yet crime is up?) Taxes suck (Nevada doesnt tax your 401K and there are no state taxes on goods and services at all!!!) plus I am paying $1000 a month in child care since I have no family near by! Dude its seriously time for me to get out!!!!!

but it could be a while?

As for my FC I dont really want to sell my car but if someone wants to give me $10,000 for a BAR stickered V8 FC ...I may change my mind? (I kinda want an FD with an LS1 to drive around Vegas in) If not it does have a/c so Vegas wont be that bad. I have had 2 calls about it and one guy says he has cash in hand but I have sold alot of cars on CL and its always the same... lots of lookers and even more dreamers with no money. My wife is happy I am listing it and at $10,000 that pretty much means I dont really want to sell it. She doesnt need to know that.

As for the cooling issue... I dont know why my engine responded so well to the shroud? It runs cooler and I am happy thats all I know???? I did design it to cover all of the top area and some of the sides too. I bent about 6inch flaps down each side to make it more of a box rather than just a top piece.

I am going to make some bottom shrouds/splash gaurds things out of thin gauge steel just to keep the elements out and maybe cut in some luvers to force up a little more air?

as in it's a California SMOG legal car now because the Bureau of Automotive Repair (BAR) Approved the swap.

Anyways the FD was sold on saturday. Just got the wrecked 87 and my First gen project left. Time to go shopping.

Checking in from Vegas.

I miss Nor-Cal but this new job is a blast. There is alot to it, but also just get paid to go out and party and make myself known. House of blues vip room one night, Social House private party the next. All comped in the name of Promotion for the Casino.

Flip, there is no state income tax. But you do get charged sales tax here... at least I have. Depending on what you are doing, you might have to get a Sheriffs card, Tam card, Health Card if you are working for a casino. The other thing, things move slow, the process for my job was 5 weeks. Even at that, people here are real clickish, most of the time outsiders dont get a crack at the decent jobs. Unless you know someone it will be a challenge to get employed outside entry level.

On the housing end, great time to buy here!!! they have so many homes on the market right now you could get a sweet deal. Over the next couple of years they will go up because by 2010 there should be another 20,000 hotel rooms in the market place. Pahrump might also be a idea, it is cheaper and NYE county has ZERO smog requirements.

Mike, Ben.... What you guys been up to?
