Whats the farthest you guys driven your RX-7's?

Me: Norcal to Socal. Roughly 340 Miles. Had to fill up once in Bakersfield and had a quarter tank left once I got to the OC.

 

Almost across the country.

From Dayton, Ohio to Bay Area, CA. ~2600 miles and ~48 hours.

 

Got DAMN! haha. How long did that take? any problems along the way?

Problems? Not enough energy drinks, exhaust was way too loud.

Ricers in "domestics" (Toyota Cavaliers with HUGE Chevy decals and fart cans) and a bunch of lil street racers along the way.

The Snowstorm. Couldn't sleep cuz Brooke kept thinking we'd die at the hands of a trucker at the truck stops so we switched off. One slept while the other one drove till they were too tired to drive.

I was going to say the same thing. The Top Gear Guys have THE best job in the WORLD.

 

Left Ohio around noon on Saturday arrived about 3AM Monday. No problems, but the snow storm in Wyoming was intense. The 7 doesn't like the snow.

The exhaust was so loud we had to get ear plugs

 

I though the lack of sleep, paranoia, ricers and ear torture were the worst but the snowstorm wasn't fun at all.

 

you drove in the snow??? with the 7? damn speaking of that i just got back from Tahoe and lol spotted more 7's at the resort.

 

yeah, got pics of the front end covered in ice. Sucked.

 

This sounds like it will be fun...I hope I can make it.

yeah, any time I have to drive through snow I make sure I get a rental car. Not fun to drive a 7 in the snow.

well what i had in mind was to find a place to meet then cruse up to twin peaks and take more pics and make a movie then afterwards get a bite to eat or something. OR cruse and go down that one zig zag road with the 10 AE Pic

 

How about a meet up at Infineon Raceway at our shop?

 

If you want you can host the MAY meet at infineon so we make our way around the bay!


How much does it cost to rent out the track for us to race? I was planning on going to Infineon for June or July but if you can get the RX7 guys track time then I'm there. I'd rather be with a bunch of 7's than any other group.

I'm pretty sure a RX7 specific track day will be VERY expensive. Plus, seeing that the majority of RX7 owners in the bay are on a low budget, I doubt renting the track will be reasonable.

There are test days almost every week, that you can pay and drive. I'll have to check which days will allow street cars and the costs. Most test days are race-car specific only (which isn't a problem for me, but most of you guys won't be able to register).
