Need My Tints Signed Off
DA signed off for mine =D
I got pulled over for no front plate, then he got me for tint, then I didn't have my insurance in the car.
I had to go to court with my insurance to show I had it at the time I got pulled over, but forgot to get
everything signed off, but the DA was like whatever its nothing, I believe you took it off, and he signed.

You may get lucky if you see an optometrist and say the early morning sun shining in your face hurts your eyes, you'll get basically a doctor's note. Didn't work when I tried it, but I know it worked for others.

Don't have to remove the tint off the side windows to get it signed off. Legally, you don't have to have side windows. So what I do is simply take my windows out, go to the local police station to get it signed off, then go home and put my windows back in.
Pretty easy removal and installation. Mostly a 10mm and 12MM ratchet/wrench is all that is needed once the door panels are off.

Hmmm is that true? I thought you could tint any windows of your car except for the front driver and passenger sides.
Here is proof:
Can I put after-market tinting on the windows of my vehicle?
The main requirements for legal window tinting in California are:
- The windshield and front driver's side and passenger's side windows cannot receive any aftermarket tinting.
- If the rear window of a vehicle is tinted, the vehicle must have outside rearview mirrors on both sides.
However, legislation signed into law effective January 1, 1999, exempts from the above prohibition specified clear, colorless, and transparent material that is installed, affixed, or applied to the front driver and passenger side windows for the specific purpose of reducing ultraviolet rays. If, as, or when this material becomes torn, bubbled or otherwise worn, it must be removed or replaced.

Honestly, I wouldn't mess with trying to trick officiers by keeping your windows rolled down.
chp states that "if you have a sun "issue" you must use a sun blind but not tinted safety glass"

That's exactly what I was talking about, the side windows.
And, to answer the question (I'm sure tongue in cheek), you're going to ask a cop to sign off that the side window tint was removed. So if he can see you simply have your windows rolled down, what do you think he's going to ask you to do? If you try the "power windows don't work (because you actually pulled the fuse), he'll just tell you to come back after you got them fixed.
The only time that may work is if you roll down your windows when you see you're going to be pulled over. Out of sight when the cop walks up to your side window, out of mind to write you up for the tint.
Nope, the only loophole here to get signed off and still retain your side window tint is to remove the windows.
Special note to DJ.... Who the heck IS that model in your signature. I always forget what I'm about to say when ever I see her.
