Pretty sweet, but I've never heard the reason for using the cosmo 13B, how is it better than the one from the RX-7?

port runners and intake system. more low end.

i don't need anything special for top end...it'll do 400 hp @ 5k rpm if i wanted it to. but this will allow me to keep the port timing conservative, so it'll idle smoothly and give a really wide powerband. AND i won't have to spin it to 8k rpm to make power--which translates into more longevity.

near-factory streetability, 12 second quarter mile (maybe lower?), change the tires and autox, road race, commute, beat on it..... it'll be a well balanced, all-around car.

NOT like my turbo bridgeport fc although i do miss that car!!!!!

na, soem dood had a cosmo for sale with motor mount brackets, so we're good to go on that.

everyone interested in the cosmo swap let me know though... they're hard to find, so i might make a few copies with or without mods (depending on how good they are).

if i cared about smog, i could easily make it pass the sniffer and the functionals with a haltech...IF i cared.

Thanks for the Cosmo explanation. Does it still make power at high rpm's? To me, the beauty of the rotary is that it can rev so high without comprimising reliability. How often have you heard about RX-7's having problems from over-revving? I've only heard the 12A guys talk about it. As far as I know, most 13B problems are due to temperature issues (detonation or overheating).
