my car wont start need help!!!!

It will kind of start up when I spray starter fluid into the air intake, but will die immediately when I give it a little bit of gas as soon as it starts to rotate around 2k rpm.

Yes you should hear the fuel pump prime before you try to start it. And posts don't count in the West Section because there are too many post ******. (Myself included :P)
If you were closer I could come out and help.

Would it not want to start, or prime, because the pump is dead?
The people said they replaced it, but the dust back there looks like its 24 years old.
Anyone have one?
Edit: previous owner also mentioned that the car died often if 65+ MPH was reached
My friends and I thought about the injectors being shot, or my throttle body being clogged, but now that i've seen that the fuel pump doesnt even look like it has been touched since the car left the factory floor... I have other thoughts.

Fuel pump does not turn on unless the engine is on (airflow through AFM) or the yellow test connector located near the pressure sensor is jumped and the key switched to the on position. I'd verify that your pump works before moving forward.
The guys wanted to have a BBQ ha ha maybe we should have it at your place lol

I dont hear anything. Any connections I should check?

Unless its the EGI Comp.
Then it must be a line between the fuel pump and the fuses.
What would be the symptoms of a fried ECU?
Would the injectors/fuel pump/spark plugs not work?
Cause my spark plugs have spark, but i dont hear my fuel pump, so i am not sure if the injectors are working either.

Also, where are the wires FROM the pump, to the connection point on the strut tower, to where they connect up in the front? I know they run under the carpet somewhere, but where exactly do they end up? I have a Haynes manual, which has NO information, so i'm stumbling around in the dark.
I'm also wondering... what would be the most logical explanation for the car just "Dying?". He said it just stalled out. My finger points to fuel problem...
Edit: tried jumping the fuel pump with the yellow connectors next to the AFM in the bay, turned to on, nothing.
All that is left are Wires, and the Fuel Pump itself...
I ruled out that I may have fried the ECU by connecting jumper cables correctly, because my spark plugs fire, and all my lights turn on etc.
He said it just Quit on him, which really makes me think that the pump just decided to die? Possibly?

Is there any way i can try and jump the fuel pump to see if it works?

K, I pulled the pump and it was the wires TO the pump from the top of the pump, so i replaced those.
Now. My pump wont run if it does not have that little wire with the 10amp fuse between that and the 15 amp fuse next to the kick panel plugged in. AND, it runs all the time now. And since i've replaced the wires, my tachometer does not show any movement from the engine.
Ideas?

Anyone know why i still cant edit?
Anyway, I fixed the problem, Car runs and drives now. It was my fuel pump wires UNDER the pump cover. My positive and Neg. were rusted and not fun. Also the wire from the fuel pump to the fuse box was plugged into the wrong slot. I did some guessing and placed it into the lower 7.5 amp fuse and everything checks out ok!
Thanks for the help and input guys!
