Looking for the best RX-7 import shops in the San Francisco bay area?
Looking for the best RX-7 import shops in the San Francisco bay area?
I just receive a '91 2nd gen for pretty much free. The body is perfect but the guts(engine, tranny) need some work. I don't have time to do the repairs myself, plus I don't know what I'm doing when it comes down to the real technical work. Just wondering if anyone out there is familiar with the San Francisco bay area rx-7 import scene and could recommend a few good shops that can help me on this quest of restoration. I've check some local directory's and haven't found any that stand out as specialist. I was hoping the GODS of RX-7 club.com can point me in the right direction.
THANKS

There is a thread stickied on rotary shops in the bay area, in this forum.

Yeah its ROTORSPORT the head guy is Paul, he rebuild my engine late last year and did a great job of it. He is honest and knows all about the RX-7, I don’t remember how I found him I think he was recommended by someone at Mazda.

Junpower is a good guy too, he's on his 34th rx7, knows alot about them as well. Haven't gone to him to work on my car, but I know people have gone to him and only have good things to say.

Junpower is a really cool guy very knowledgeable.
2 bad experiences with Ricks Rotary myself. I have heard negative things from other club members as well.
Paul of Rotorsports is the most knowledgeable guy I have met about Rotaries. I mean his first car was an Rx2 and has been working on rotaries for more than 30 years. But yeah he is not perfect, kinda has a temper and gets annoyed by "forum kids with FCs" lol. But he is my shop neighbor and without that guy I would hate Rx7s. My S13 never gave me half the problems
Anyways come by and say hello sometime!
