None of my parts are on any of his cars. He gets all his parts from Hert and their sponsors. If you notice i have a borg warner and all of hert/johns turbos are garrett. Plus i’m running turblown stuff whereas they like and get free stuff from Glease Manufacturing. I see my car frequently enough to know this. John and i might be a bit rocky in terms of the **** he has been putting me through with my build but he’s not going to waste his time using customers parts for his own stuff like a lot of different shops have done. As far as deadlines, they are never met cus something always comes up on his part...(drift events, hoonigan, going out of state...whatever) and i to my knowledge i have supplied everything needed as well so theres none of this “waiting on parts” business on my side lingering. I see him frequently enough and thankfully we are local to each other as well but i have had this thread open as collateral should anything really go haywire....people are well aware of my situation with AM westcoast. I will continue to push for what has been paid for to get done as i want this intercooler to be done because it looks great and is a great brand core...but i most definitely do not want to wait more than another two weeks for a job that can get done in 5 days as Michael once said in a post up above somewhere that “it only takes a few days to put everything together and get a car started” so owning up to that statement right about now would be very good because i clearly stated my interest of having another shop finish my build for me (where it is now is literally just hooking everything back up together, adding oil, coolant, etc and firing it up) but mike made it clear that whatever warranty they offer would be void should another shop finish the rest of it and john and also mentioned to me how he would prefer to finish it himself since he built the engine instead of letting another shop take credit for it so i said ok fine. Aside from that..rest assured that i will do everything i can to make things right and keep things calm and steady to also staying at peace with these guys cause i do not want any drama like i always see between shops or customers and shops and i appreciate everyones input and commitment to frequently check for updates on this thread. Thank you
I hate to say it but you're starting to lose credibility in your argument just like John has.

This thread being up this long with no status change is just an example of your inaction and the reason your car is not done. If everything is paid for and all the parts are in this car should be done, if you're not leaving out any information it's just a matter of you pushing it to completion.
I hate to say it but you're starting to lose credibility in your argument just like John has.

its not as easy as paying 250 for a tow truck to pick up my car, ask/argue/whatever for a refund that i may or may not get and throw another idk what like 800 for a different shop to do it? I don’t have that kind of money to just do as i please. I’m ask every other day for an update on my car and if i could go every other day i would too but something called making a living is in effect 5 days out of the week and the days that its not AM westcoast is closed

I truly wish for the best for you in this situation, it is hard to stay positive when you keep making excuses.

I guess its a hard place to be in, and ive been there before in an unrelated way, I’m a tradie working for myself and a client didn’t pay up a progress payment half way thru a 6 unit project as agreed upon in emails, (turns out agreements by emails are not legally binding in any way, even if our letterheads are on each exchange), he had me bent over as he knew I couldn’t afford to not get paid but he wouldn’t pay me until the last unit was completed, progress payment was $26k, long story short, we completed the project, he dragged me out another 60 days for the payment and now we dont do any business with any1 without them signing our “terms of trade” documents. And we have jacked up the price for that client as he has now signed the legal documents and no1 else will do work for him as he is known as a **** payer, lol, so now he works for our terms and we can threaten to black list him for his credit if he dont pay up on time!!
so your situation is yo need john tomfinish the car as you’ve paid him and if you take it somewhere else you have to spend more $$ for them to finish it and John wont honour the warranty, what i **** position, either way, its a huge risk, and what’s not to say that he will honour the warranty even if he does finish the car, he can say something like “some1 messed with the map” or “bad batch of fuel” or “overboosted” or whatever, honestly if it were me, I’d take the car, sit on it for a yr and save up and then get another workshop to strip down the engine to “view” the internals to see if they are what you were promised, then finish off the car, it would be good insurance, saves having a 2nd hand seal ruin a good housing and other **** on its way out the box.
I wonder if there are any basic legal contracts that can be downloaded to get him moving??

I'm pretty new to the rotary scene but seeing stuff like this makes me question if this is a community I really want to be a part of. Good luck getting your car back man, I wouldn't wish something like this on anyone.

My 2 cents
I cancelled a 6000 order from Elite Rotary because their customer service sucks, make false promises dont deliver. I also know my to go shop stopped doing business with them for same reasons. Just saying.... can't a motor out of Hope's and dreams....

New member here as well. Had bad work done by Ernst at rx7 world in nc to where a “rebuilt bridge port” is putting a drill on plates and making it into Swiss cheese. Anyways detailed issue is on their fb page for those interested. After having this issue i took my car to Bryan at Rotorsport racing where he tunerd it and fixed some issues with car running. Car ran for about a week or 2 before engine blew. I couldn’t get any warranty since i did not know if original problem came from first or second shop so there wasnt much to build a case on. After this i took my car to Angel motors in V.A. I’ve met and talked several times with mike and he really does seem like a cool guy but at this point my car has been there 2 years and 1 month. Everything has been paid off aside from labor and fabrication yet im still waiting. Im not sure if this is common or maybe he truly is just really backed up with a lot of work but if i had known this id of gone elsewhere. I left the Ls community because of this same reason where i had to get my lawyer involved with a shop in Charleston in order to come out with my car and charging the shop backed fees. Im really trying to avoid doing that again due to how annoying and time consuming it gets but i keep seeing shops trying to fu** over a lot of people in the rotary community. I really hope O.P gets his car back soon and that im not just geting the run around as well.

You gotta know where to post 'em
Know when to roast 'em
Know when to bump a thread
Know where to look
You never count your money
'Til the parts are on the table
There'll be time enough for counting your money
When the build is done.
