LAX - Living there - Near there
Just wondering what some of your imputs are on living there.
Are there any places you could live say one hour outside LAX that aren't that expensive?
Just how bad is rent?
James

Are you working out of LAX or somthing? The traffic in that area BLOWS! So if you want to live an hour away plan on it taking way longer then that to get to work.
You can always look in the Long Beach area. How cheap are you talkig?

i live in santa clarita. it's about an hour north of LAX (less without traffic). you can find a lot of apartments around here there are pretty cheap (by cali standards, anyway)

You'd love it out here
There is one "pocket" of area called El Segundo that time has forgotten due to it's proximity to LAX. If you could get an apt that is not too close......ES is cool. minutes from LAX.....maybe 3-4 minutes. The fact that you have access to flights out all the time would make it worth it.

My brother lives in Northridge, which is about 25 miles from LAX. He manages a yamaha supermoto team and has an open room in the house he rents. Usually, one of the racers rents the room, but now has to pay for all the rent $1800/month.

LA ******* sucks. Esp the area around LAX, since it's on the water all the rents in that area will be sky high due to proxmity to the ocean. El Segundo is also an oil refinery area...if it's cheap rent near the coast in cali then something is amiss....
I've lived in San Diego for just shy of 7 years and I'm about ready to get the **** outta cali b/c I want to buy and nothing here is affordable. Hell, GAS is $3.20/gal for 81 octane. Unless hte job pays hella well and has solid upward movement...I'd seriously think 2x.

Yeah, there is a job I was thinking about and saying I would take the LAX base would help me get it sooner. But ... meh...unless you are the president of the ocean I don't think you could make enough money to live there But I am sure the women are down to earth ?

a live like ~40 minutes from LAX in North hollywood. i used to go to band practice in Redondo beach and i would pass LAX. the 405 blows *****. ive wasted like 5hours of my life sitting in ******* traffic. i quit the band, and saved my self a tank of gas 3 times a week.
move down to SD. kinda cheaper and the airport there is cooler.

Cali has some really good parts to it, the only things overpriced are gas and housing. And it still beats being living in Texass anyday! I know, I used to live there.

I just have the one horn, but I wouldn't show it to you, you'd just want to touch it or put it in your mouth or something. I know how you California types are.
Actually, there's good stuff in California. They've really got something for everyone. If you like wine, there's Napa Valley, if you're into technology they've got Silicone Valley, and if you don't like either of those things, there's the faultline that'll make it all slide off into the ocean, or so we're promised.
