Its aliivvvveeee! Ilikeeatpoo and I build a engine in one day

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_2PWUWUpY9E

video of the 1st engine startup.

new bearings, all new springs, rotary aviation water seals and o rings, and oil viton seals, new plugs, awesomness.

Only problem now is the front cover is leaking oil. I think its cracked

SO yeah, I guess I gotta pull the oil pan open and swap the front cover

How long should I let it idle breaking in before its good enough to drive? So far it idles and doesnt smoke.

Its weird Me and ilikeeatpoo started it yesterday[the video] it was perfect, engine started up asap, reved really fast, sounded strong, idled on its own. But we had to shut it off because the efan wasnt working and there was a fuel leak on the fuel line.

I replaced a new fuel hose, and hozzman wired the black magic fan up and now its good Today we tried to start it and it was hard to start. When it finally started after pop starting, the engine sounded different like a lawn mower, and was slow reving, and slow.

I guess it lost compression because we shut the motor off early? Stuck side seal maybe? I guess Il just keep breaking it in.. It seems like its getting better.. But its still not as good as the first startup like the one in the video..

After you left the engine has been idling for about 1 hour. The idle went from 1500 to 1000 rpm. So its idling at 1k right now. I can drive it too.. The only thing im concerned is the front cover crack.. Its dripping oil..

It still feels abit weak, probably low compression still. SHould I pour the wheel bearing grease down the runners? jk

at least it doesnt smoke at all. It has clear invisible exhaust fumes

Its guna be a pain in the butt to pull the pan and front cover on jack stands,

then clean off the existing rtv, then reseal...

IIRC i think let is idle for an hour unless you're going to drive it right away.

front cover probably just makes it feel like ****. the drawings and penises blew it up haha..

by the way check if the drawings are still there when you open it up. I'll hit up my friend tmmr to see if he is willing to sell the front cover and if so I'll see if I can bring it up to inland drift. he might be going so that would be even easier.
