Guys, guys, guys. Dino and I both know the laws here. I know it may seem stupid but a law is a law. If you don't like it, get out of California.

Sir, Law enforcement can do whatever they deemed to be appropriate. You can try to throw the book at an officer and discover the results for doing so.

If you have a new primered bumper, please do not put it on unless you can afford the paint plus the labor cost. You car is an FD, not a bucket. But then again, if you want to be teh rice and get pulled over, that is your prerogative.

Now, now, Wacky,

Just because you have been in trouble with the law during the last 20 years, does not make you an expert.

tell you something I had this problem before..... I got a ticket right in front of my house ( it was sunday morning 8am...) out of all the bloody cars that were parked on the street mine looked very eye catching for the detective and his trainee....black w/primered white bumper.
The love letter that I got from these two was a fix up ticket....they could at least let me wake up.

In reality it all depends on the police officer.... 90.1% of the time they have nothing else to do.

.....And of course someone has to pay for road fixing here in Cali.

i would never put anything on my car without painting it, i was just using it as an example. My old 240 back in the highschool days was completly primed from front to back with exposed steel showing in several places. I live in San Diego, so its like the heart of ticket-ville. I once got pulled over for no front plate and the policeman didnt seem to care it wasnt painted. So i guess its just who stops you and what mood he/she is in.

I work in law enforcement and a DMV investigator is in an office right next to mine. He says you all are stupid and wasting your time in this topic.

It's not illegal to repaint your car a different color.
