Exclamation I Need A Rebuild In Bay Area

my rx7 maniac friend told me that coolant seals are bad and the pressure is pushing all the coolant out into the overflow so it cant cool the engine and thats why im overheating.. kinda disappointed cause i had this car for 2 weeks :/.. does anyone know where i can get my NA rebuilt? and how much would it cost if i pull the engine and bring it in to be rebuilt? dont really care what kind if its in a shop or someone that does them in there garage as long as its done right. btw i live near sanjose but am willing to drive far if theres someone that does the job good and isnt too pricey.. PLEASE HELP

before you do that, check your radiator cap. It may need replacing.....and if the car has the second overflow nipple at the Tstat housing, check to make sure it's not busted.

hmm.. well after i turn it off now there is some steam coming from the radiator cap.. i also read up on it and there is no bubbling in the radiator so i think it might be clogged? please correct me if im wrong. i also think that overflow hose/ switch over the thermostat is fine but ill check it out later...

is the system circulating coolant? might be water pump or thermoswitch..

bubbles in the coolant isn't usually a good sign. is that what you're talking about?

If that doesn't help, and if you DO decide to rebuild, contact Karack on this forum. He rebuilt the engine in my FD and it's been purring like a kitten for 7k+ miles and 4 trackdays without so much as a hiccup.

a radiator will probably not fix it. the radiator cap comment is a very good recommendation.

when you start the car up and let it warm up without the radiator cap on does it push fluid out ?

(you don't want bubbles in the coolant so that's a good sign)
