This law is seriously going to mess up the lives of young ricer/racers lives who get busted and didn't even know such a law was in effect. At least this will hopefully chill out the civic and camaro owners who run like a 20 sec. 1/4mile from trying to race at every stop light.

It will ONLY be consider a felony charge, IF the illegal street racing or reckless driving LEADS to ONE or MORE INJURIES. and Death...

If nothing happen, you probably just get something else. More than likely a fine and a ticket.

what you are describing is already into effect, but read the article or search it up online. nowhere on it does it say (now) that it will only be treated as a felony IF someone is hurt.

it is a felony if you are street racing.

z28_SS,
I was wondering how to interpret that too...

seek felony charges against motorists found to have participated in illegal street racing or reckless driving that leads to one or more injuries.

So is it only a felony if either street racing or wreckless driving results in one or more injuries.

OR

Is it street racing = felony
wreckless driving w/injuries = felony.

After reading it through I think what you said is the correct interpretation. Basically if you race make sure nobody gets hurt ..................... ;D
